Why are people so mean to fat girls?

I know right off the bat I’m going to get a lot of negative comments on this question… Anyways, I’ve personally gotten a lot of rude comments and have heard and read comments directed at others. Fat people are told they are lazy, ugly, selfish, stupid, an eye sore, and usually told “I don’t feel sorry for you, you did this to yourself.” I’ve heard a lot of people justify this by saying that its not healthy to be fat and this is the only way to motivate them to get thin and healthy. Really, they are doing them a favor by caring about their health. I do agree on one point only, yes in many cases being overweight can be a health risk but is it any of your business? I’m just tired of being a joke to every one because of the way I look, I exercise nearly every day. I have a job and I help support my family, I bike or walk to work…and I still get comments. “Maybe if you got off you’re lazy ass and exercise…” “You’ll never get a boyfriend if you look like that.” Not to mention comments I get when I do exercise and eat right. “Look at that fat girl trying to jog ha ha!” “Eating a salad and diet pop, as if. She probably had chips and a bowl of ice cream for breakfast.” Really? It’s like I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t. Why can’t people just keep their snide comments and remarks to themselves? Sorry, a bit of a rant but some people really pissed me off today with their “fat girl” jokes.
