Donna Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Donna asks…

How does one lose eyesight, and how does one gain it back?

I’ve worn glasses most of my life (I’m about to turn 18 in a few months), and for some reason when I was in the second grade I began to lose my vision drastically. I wore glasses ever since, but I would always eat right, watch the tv from a good distance to protect my eyes, etc. Neither of my parents have glasses and actually have perfect vision. Heres the strangest part, I’ve notice that the more time I spend with my eyes closed the sharper and clearer I see when I open them (which makes me think I should bandage my eyes for two weeks during the summer to see what happens). I’m getting to a point in my life where I truly want to see clear again like when I was a kid. Its discouraging knowing that you rely on glasses or contacts to see. I want to be able to rely on my own eyes, something thats a part of my body. So if anyone knows of any methods (other than laser eye surgey) and/or exercises, or know anyone that has gained back their vision naturally please, please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read this and answer my question.

admin answers:

Gee, I wonder why people spend thousands of $ for laser surgery if there was an easy natural way to regain vision.

If there was a natural way that worked, it would be BIG news and everyone would know about it, and be doing it.

So, obviously, you are in the same boat as millions of others. Laser surgery is your only option in a few years.

admin answers:

I’ve only heard of one case like this and it involved a radioactive spider bite.

Outside of that you need to find out why your eye sight is deteriorating. The shape of your eye will distort it, so as you grow it could be getting changed in a not so good way. If it’s the retina deteriorating then that’s a whole different ball of wax.

Rub the crust out of both eyes when you wake up in the morning and put it into a small glass bottle with some rosemary and seawater. Make your husband wear it around his neck for three nights, you’ll know it’s time to take it back when the water turns black. Open the bottle and put a few drops of black water into each eye, just like regular eyedrops.

Laura Your Questions About Eye Exercises To Improve Vision

Laura asks…

is it possible to improve my vision even if i have to wear glasses?

i’ve read about this eye exercise thing and it really made me keen to do it. the question is it possible to make my eye vision more clear? i hate wearing glasses and i don’t wanna use contact lens as i heard a lot of problem if i can’t take care of it.

so this eyes exercising thing, could it really helps?

oh one more thing, would my vision be more blurry if i don’t wear glasses? or is it getting more worse if i wear it?

admin answers:

Your vision will not be more blurry if you don’t wear glasses. Your eyes will get worse whether you wear the glasses or not.
I do not believe in any exercises that help improve your vision. That’s a question you should ask an optometrist, but I’m pretty sure the answer will be no.
Lasik surgery would be perfect for you. It’s routine surgery now. Just remember you get what you pay for. Don’t look for bargains.
There are some really cool light frames now. You’ll be missing out on so so much if you go without. Glasses can be very sexy!
Best of luck to you. icon wink Your Questions About Eye Exercises To Improve Vision

I just want to improve my vision myself. icon sad Your Questions About Eye Exercises To Improve Vision I think its either 20/200 or 20/400, but I don’t know for sure. Apparantly you`re not open to common sense. If you won`t consult an optometrist you`ve got more than eye problems.

Linda Your Questions About Eye Exercises To Improve Vision

Linda asks…

Tips and or exercises to improve eye focus?

So long story short, I have been having a lot of headaches and I went into the eye dr and he told me my vision is great and my eyes are healthy. The only thing that wasnt good was my focus. He told me he would give me a C- on the grade scale and this could be a big factor in my headaches, my eyes struggling to focus. If anyone could help give me some tips and exercises to do that would be awesome. I got some reading glasses last night for when on the computer or reading so thats step one. I really want to improve my actual focus too though so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

admin answers:

First, don’t strain or try to see. Just relax and close your eyes.
Search the Bates Method on Wikipedia and do the palming exercise.
It’s working for me if I look at something, close my eyes and imagine it clearer and then open them again.

Helen Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Helen asks…

How to improve my vision/hearing without surgery?

I have 20/20 vision, but I want it to be even better. But I cant have surgery like lasik or PKR, contacts/glasses are also out the window… someone please help? I REALLY want to be a pilot and having better than 20/20 would be excellent.

I checked out a package of eye exercises on a website, but the page looks like such B.S. plus it costs about a hundred bucks… should I trust it or not because it gave me a sample “eye workout: ‘place a pencil close to your face and move it away slowly, just concentrate on the pencil and not the blurry background’ ” ______ Does that work, or is it B.S.? I mean, should I really trust this thing?

If there’s any alternate way PLEASE tell me, and that goes for the hearing, too.

Thank you in advance

admin answers:

You don’t need to pay $100 bucks to improve your eyesight, more like you have to pay nothing

Betty Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Betty asks…

help with this aura peripheral vision concentration thing?

right, so im doing this aura thing, and i really dont care if there is such thing as an aura, but i hears the eye exercises on this site are good for your eyes. here is the link: http://www.thiaoouba.com/aura_eye_exercise.htm

im fine with the first one, but im no good at the second. when i stare at my finger tip, the two circles join, but i can only see one at a time or in fragments, i cant see them fused like demo shows. is it a problem with my distance or something?
yeah, well thats all fine in good, but it appears that only one person actually understood my question.

admin answers:

I don’t know about those exercises, but the best way to see other people’s auras (as it is almost impossible to see your own) is to stand them against a light colored wall in bright sunlight and focus your gaze on the space just above their shoulder (left or right doesn’t matter). Let your gaze un-focus, and you should start to see their ‘envelope’, that part of the aura closest to their bodies. Just relax and you soon start to see the colors, often more than one, of their auric layers. As you get better and better you can see more and more colors. The first color past their envelope is their ‘root’ auric color and the one that indicates their personality.

Paul Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Paul asks…

How to Somewhat Fix Nearsightedness?

I am nearsighted in my left eye. Are there any eye exercises that will possibly fix my nearsightedness?
Also how long would it take for my vision in my left eye to become more clearer? School starts in September and I don’t want to depend on my glasses to see better all the time. Help please?

admin answers:

This question gets asked a lot. There are many cures out there but independent studies show no evidence they work. If they did noone would wear glasses.

I know its hard to have to get uesd to wearing glasses to school, but there isn’t a lot of choice here. You can try and get an attractive pair of glasses and contacts are really good.

Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

William Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

William asks…

what exercises or food to eat can I do or use on a daily basis for the eye, I have a weak mescle in my eye?

I feel like my vision is getting worst fast and I have a slight lazy eye which is getting worst too, Im also really young.I wear glasses everyday from I open my eyes in the morning till I close them at night.I been to many doctors everywhere that tell me that my vision has not changed for 4 years. I been to therapy for a month but its so expensive and I feel like it makes my eyes worse with all those lights and just everything. I dont want to go blind and be cockeyed, or get lasik what can I do to have 20/20 vision forever

admin answers:

Unfortunately there is not way to restore 20/20 vision. All you can do is correct your vision by continuing to wear glasses or contact lenses or have refractive laser eye surgery. No foods or exercises are capable of bringing anybody’s vision back to 20/20

Sandy Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Sandy asks…

Do you know anyone with a lazy eye?

I have one, but look good otherwise (very healthy, clean cut, and dress well). Lately, I’ve been looking for jobs and I am wondering whether I am being passed over at interviews because of it. What do you think the odds of that are? The jobs I am going for are professional office administration jobs, not modeling jobs or public appearance positions.

I’ve had two surgeries, but neither took – also tried the exercises and patch. I am simply stuck with it for life and I can handle it so long as it doesn’t hinder my ability to earn an income.

Yes, I can wear glasses instead of contacts to hide it, but don’t think I should have too; people I know tell me it’s not too bad. However, I can tell that sometimes people are totally keen to it and instantly turned off.

Thank each and everyone of you for offering your perspective. You made it hard to choose the Best Answer.

admin answers:

I have lazy eye. I am almost 57 years old. Found it when i was 7. I wear glasses and tried contacts but had allergy’s.

I had a career as a 9-1-1 Police and Fire Dispatcher and have never had a problem. I am a expert marksman shooting, and can spot a dime on the road a mile away!

Mine is really bad when I get tired, it turns in. Just be yourself and go out and do your best. You do not have to tell them about it!! Best of luck

Carol Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Carol asks…

is drifting eyes and lazy eyes the same thing?

ok i have had drifting eyes for as long as i can remeber. i am currently 19 years old. when i was about 9, i had surgery on my right eye to i guess remove some muscles. what happenes is is that when something gets in the way of my vision both my left and right eyes drift outwards. so say if i stare in the mirror it would be fine, but if i put a piece of paper in front of the eyes it would start to move outwards. i was told that after that operation things seemed to be doing well. as of a few years ago i was told i may need surgery again but this time on the other eye. but after that surgery and the surgery i had a year later on my arm and what i have been told about them by mom and others, i try to stay away from having surgery done, especially on the eyes. i have found some exercises to help with lazy eyes that may work and i wanted to try them and see what happens before the next check up to see if that would work for me, but i just wanted to make sure they are the same thing, as the description i read didn’t seem to match what i have.
i wanted to try a non-surgical approach first before going into surgery. right now its not at the stage where it is needed right away, and i wanted to at least wait til after college to get it done if i have to go down that path

admin answers:

Hi, hope youre still checking for response to your query.
A ‘drifting’ eye is an eye which is turning either in/out/up or down. The most common type is an inward turn followed by outward turn followed by up/down turns. In some complex cases there may be a combination of vertical and horizontal deviation eg up and outwards.
The proper term for a drifing eye is ‘strabismus’ or sometimes loosely called a ‘squint’
They can occur due to a variety of reasons eg prescription type(inward turn usually associated with longsight, outward with shortsight) or a muscle problem, or less commonly some eye pathology or associated general health problem.
It is very commonly hereditary so there may be other members in your family with similar eyes to yours.
A ”lazy eye” (proper term AMBLYOPIA) is a loose term for is an eye which does not fully improve to perfect vision even with glasses. This can vary in severity dependant on a lot of things(eg the age the eye was corrected/how effective the treatment was are just a few reasons)
The CAUSE of a lazy eye can be the fact that the eye glides OR that one eye in childhood becomes much weaker than the other and is not corrected effectively OR even a combination of the two.
Hope this makes sense so far.
Depending on the cause/symptoms/severity of lazy eyes/gliding eyes the treatment is usually glases/patching the good eye/eye muscle excercises/surgery or a combination of the 4.
The human eye continues develop from birth and surprisingly they are fully mature by the age of 7/8 years(critical period) and have ‘adult like’ vision. This involves the whole visual system from the eye to the visual processing centres in the brain.
Lazy eyes and gliding eyes can have effects on 1. Vision 2. Cosmesis
In order to improve VISION treatment MUST be within the critical period whether it is just glasses or patches or excercises, an operation or a combination.
The cosmetic aspect can be addressed at any age to straighten the eye but sometimes the vision can remain low if the ‘lazy eye’ has not been succesfully treated.
If they do consider surgery at a later stage they must always first assess that by changing the muscle balances with the operation, the patient does not end up with double vision afterwards.
Sometimes even after straightening surgery you can be left with a ‘residual’ small turn in the eye. As we grow older and our eye positions alter a glide can start to appear a bit more pronounced and so more noticeable. Other times may be if you are tired or ill or even had a bit too much to drink!
There are six muscles in each eye which control eye movements but there is a balance between all 12. This is why sometimes they operate on the good eye to get the corrective balance and overall best effect so that they continue to work in harmony with eah other.

There is a lot of mixed opinion whether vision can be improved with eye excercises alone. Its true to say that certain eye conditions can be helped by excercises although a lot will depend on the age group and also may need additional treatments like i said above.
You can try them if you have been told what to do correctly. I can understand you have gone through a lot and dont want more operations unless absolutely necessary.
I hope this has been helpful to you. Best wishes.

Your Questions About Naturally Improve Eyesight

David Your Questions About Naturally Improve Eyesight

David asks…

Improving Eyesight naturally?

I have strong aspirations of becoming a military pilot in a few years and only one thing unsettles me about that. My eyesight isn’t perfect and I wear contacts. I am -1.50 and -1.25 in the other. I have seen many things online about naturally improving eyesight but it all seems bogus. One thing seemed central which was not to wear corrective lenses. Which I haven’t for about a week now, i printed out an eye chart and have measured it for the past week and it has seemed to have gotten slightly better. Whether that is just my eyes natural ups and downs, I don’t know. I was just wondering if anybody has any personal experiences or medical advice to this. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated, and I’ll be flying regardless so don’t go easy.

admin answers:

Most eye problems are because of the shape of the eyeball and there is nothing short of surgery that you can do to fix it.
There will be those who will answer and tell you all kinds of supplements or homeopathic medicine or other stuff to ‘naturally’ cure your eyesite but frankly that is BS. None of that can change the shape of your eyebal.

George Your Questions About Naturally Improve Eyesight

George asks…

How to improve your eyesight?

So how do one improve his/her eyesight, naturally, without the surgery.
Thanks in advance

admin answers:

As opposed to buttsight?

It’s called vision.

Robert Your Questions About Naturally Improve Eyesight

Robert asks…

Has anybody ever improved their eyesight naturally?

One of my friends used to wear glasses and he says he doesn’t need them anymore. He doesnt wear contacts and he didn’t get lasik. He says he just started to notice his eyesight get better and now he doesnt use them. So how is this possible. And his myopia was severe too.

admin answers:

I don’t normally like to agree with the skeptics, but as much as I wish I could say otherwise, glasses, contacts, or surgery are the only way to improve your eyesight. I think your friend is either lying (he may have contacts) or it was some weird fluke that he got glasses (which maybe he didn’t need) and his eyes fixed themselves… Although I’ve never heard of that happening unless the person didn’t actually need glasses.

I’ve been looking for other options for over 20 years since I first had to get glasses and I have found things that improve the health of your eyes (which can help them from getting worse), but they can’t make the actual visual acuity better. Most of them are natural herbs (like Lutein, Bilberry, and Eyebright) and vitamins (A and E among others) that help maintain the health of the eye, but unfortunately couldn’t improve vision.
The main reason is because vision problems are a physical problem (the physical distance between the retina and lens), not a chemical problem that can be changed with drugs, herbs, or supplements icon sad Your Questions About Naturally Improve Eyesight

I’ve heard of eye exercises that some people try, but based on a lot of research I’ve done on them, there is no basis to say that it will improve your eyesight at all long-term. All that’s left after all that is surgery or glasses/contacts. Sorry.
Also, there is an article at http://abcnews.go.com/Health/EyeHealthNews/11-eye-myths-debunked/Story?id=8919023 that points out some of the common myths about eyes. Some of these are included in there, but it also verifies that reading in the dark or watching a TV/computer screen too close doesn’t negatively affect the vision long-term. Good luck and I hope I helped!
