Charles Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Charles asks…

is something wrong with my head ?

If your arent going to be helpful please dont bother posting .
Im directing it to people that post irrelevant things, nonhelpful comments, or just plain “go see a doctor”.
Thank you .

-before problem -
I used to think nonstop .
Id always be daydreaming, thinking outside the box, play impossible scenerios in my head, place myself in other peoples shoes, etc.
Id love puzzles and anything to get my head thinking .

However, summer started and i got EXTREMELY lazy .
id never do anything besides sit infront of my computer screen all day for the whole summer .
The rare times i got out was to try smoking weed (yes i did it a few times just to try)
it wasnt that great so i quit after a few times . (ive also tried salvia but quit too)
My summer was just drugs, nonstop computer, and staying up till 4-6AM and sleeping in till 4-5 PM every day.
After about 2 months of this lazy schedule i started to notice a problem with my head (maybe started before ? im just assuming around this time)

-problem-
I could not think at all .
my mind is constantly blank even now .
if i try to think of something, i cant remember and i cant think .
im often light headed, left with a headache, or both .
Even my sense of time is messed up .
i can get in the shower 5 minutes ago and it feels like ive been in there for 30 minutes already. Sometimes i even wonder when i got in the shower.
I have trouble thinking and focusing .
i cant day dream, think outside the box, or anything in general .
LITERALLY blank minded. its scary thinking about how smart i was before and now im suddenly so blank. im afraid it might be like this forever . Feels like just waking up, how your eyes are open but your mind is still asleep and blank/ fuzzy .
Ive been like this for quite a while .

Since school started ive been waking up early and sleeping early.
ive been doing school weight trainning for exercise
however im still on my comptuer most of the day.
ive quit all drugs but still smoke a cigerette once or twice a month .
ive been sitting blank mindedly for quite a while. Please help ?

-Request-
if you have any idea what this might be please tell me
Can it be fixed, if so how ?
Any suggestions ?

Thank you all in advance. Terribly sorry for the long read.

admin answers:

I’m no pro but I can’t imagine living in a world without day dreaming and letting my mind go nuts soooo. The drugs could of caused some after affect especially the weed, since some of the symptoms match up with the behavior of people who do weed. Even though you quit, it can still have some sort of effect on the body, like most drugs in general. It could also be a neurological problem, maybe you unbalanced something. I’m blaming most of it on the drugs but it could also be something else you’re not aware of. Losing the sense of time is a neurological symptom, your sleeping habits are also related to that area, trouble thinking and just basically normal functions of the brain that can’t be done are all neuro. I’m sorry but you should see a doctor, if it’s a disease it could get worse. I don’t mean to scare you, but it’s really ill advised to decide not to see a doctor. It could just be something simple, or temporary but you should find out for sure, it’s better than not knowing.

George Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

George asks…

Am I ill, or is it just ‘the student phase’?

Recently (this past year) I’ve been tired (I can sleep for 16+ hours a day if time allows it and still feel tired, or as little as 6 hours and still be tired), I’ve lost a lot of brain function eg; memory, thought process, eloquence & linguistics, (I did have a 170+ IQ) and my grasp on reality (I hallucinate occasionally, constantly see shapes and shadows which I mistake for bugs but there’s nothing there, etc.) Also, sometimes I totally tune out, so when I hear people speaking english, eg; if my friend says “pick up the ball” I won’t understand a word she says and will have to ask her over and over before I can understand the clear English she is speaking. I also get headaches (in my eyes, actually) from time to time, as well as twinges in my neck and back (though I do crack my bones like dry twigs constantly, including my thumbs, neck, back, knees, nose, jaws, wrists, shoulders, ankles, elbows, toes, coxix (lower back), middle two fingers, basically every joint.) thougn only my back and neck twinge. I also have odd, recurring dreams that I can change through actions in the dream, because I KNOW In a dream it’s a dream if I’ve had it before. That, and occasionally when I dream something random (like being in class) it then happens within about a week, but I’ve always had that.

My dad tells me it’s what he calls ‘The Student Phase’ where I can’t be arsed to do anything, even speak because its not life-or-death, and I’m just being a lazy teen (I’m 15).
I’m just over 11st, and a size 14 (UK) and about 5ft 8 ish. I can’t seem to lose weight when I diet and exercise, but I don’t gain any when I eat junk food and sleep all day.
Can someone advise me if I’m ill, or if its just me being a teen and just getting a little lazy and edgy?

admin answers:

I think you should definitaly go see a doctor.

I have a few of the same symptoms as you mainly the tired all the time, and eye headaches and i see shadows that aren’t there. Nobodys been able to explain those to me. They’re almost like the aura before a migraine… But not. Somehow they are different but thats the closest to describing them I can get. I’m in college (20) and exhausted to the max. I work part time and go to school full time as a nursing student and have clinicals 7am-7pm on the weekends. I know I’m not just lazy but I always feel lousy somehow. I’ve even considered depression and while I haven’t taken meds, I saw a therapist who thinks I’m dealing with my life normally. So… Sorry that I can’t help you but do know you’re not alone.

The reason I say to go see your doctor is that those symptoms can be part of a tumor or something serious. If they do the right tests and rule everything dangerous out (or even mono, who knows?) then you’ll have peace of mind and can just live with the “student phase” diagnosis.

Hope you feel better!! =)

Thomas Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Thomas asks…

I am so tired all the time an it’s really affecting me in school/life (I’m 15)?

SO I know sleep is important, but I barely get any. On average I get about 5-6 hours a night on weekdays, and I rarely go to bed before 12. Now I know that’s BAD but I have so much freaking homework all the time and I’ll admit I am very lazy. But another thing is I always have to get stuff for school ready the night before so I won’t be panicky in the mornings.

Anyway, even when I do get sleep I’m still extremely tired, even on the weekends. And when I come back from school I’m EXHAUSTED!! And I eat pretty healthy and I’m trying to exercise more again but I’m seriously so damn tired I can barely get up (and no I’m not fat or anything not even chubby). Even in the summer when I got 10 hours + of sleep and exercising every day I was still extremely tired. I am pale, and also weak all the time.

And this DID NOT just start, this has been going on for years. I’ve already been tested for anemia/low iron deficiency, and apparently I don’t have it. My blood is perfect, I don’t have asthma, I get sick occasionally but I KNOW that’s not the reason.

I don’t understand how my friends who get like less than 4 hours of sleep a night are as bright as day at school while when I get 5 hours I can barely keep my eyes open. It’s really affecting my concentration, but I seriously can’t help it. I have a hard time falling asleep, like it takes me hours and it always has unless I go to sleep when I’m really tired which is like at around 11:30-12:00 sometimes. Sometimes even when I’m tired I have trouble falling asleep. And I REALLY want to take up sports but I’m seriously so weak and tired but I’m only 15!!! I mean now I’m wondering what am I supposed to do when I’m older and be even MORE tired????? SHould I see a doctor?
I’m just clearing thins up right now:

1. I actually think I do have low serotonin levels b/c that’s what my doctor told me.
2. I’m tired at night too, I don’t think I have Night Owl Syndrome.
3. My mom and great grandmother have thyroid problems. Could that be it?

admin answers:

First you should talk to your parents about this. Yes you do need to go to a Dr. Ask him or she if you can check your B-12 level. There are many reasons why you are tired all time, low B-12, depression which is low serotonin to the brain, etc…. Yes check it out. Good Luck.

admin answers:

Im a Fruititarian because I eat more fruits than veggies. I also eat rice pasta’s breads cous cous and other things you can eat plenty of different things you dont have to make veggies your main stable. Make yourself a fruit smoothy in the morning or have some dried fruit and nut or even trail mix with chocolate in it to snack on if your hungry. There are lots of things you can eat, hell you can even eat top ramen if you really want to just dont use the seasoning packet try something else like tomato sauce or put olive in it or whatever.

Nancy Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Nancy asks…

What will my final height be?

I’m currently 17, 18 in May, and am 5’10. My dad is 5’9, and my mom is 5’6/5’7.

On my dad’s side, his brother and sister are short (5’6 and under), but that’s due to their mom’s genetics who comes from a shorter family. His dad was my height, 5’10, and came from semi-tall genetics.

My mom comes from tall genetics. All of her brothers were 6’1-6’3, and coincidentally, all of my male cousins are 6’1- 6’6 (female cousins hover around 5’8). All of her brothers were about my height until 18, and then hit a growth spurt between 18 and 19 and got their final height. My one cousin who is 20 in May was around 6’1 when he turned 18, and then shot up to 6’4 between ages 18 and 19.

Now, I take more after my mom’s side. Facial features, body structure (except for my feet, I got those from my grandpa on my dad’s side), and body hair (my dad has practically no body hair and has very little on his face, whereas my legs, arms, and pubes are ridiculously hairy, and my face is on it’s way) hair from my mom’s side. Really the only things I got from my dad’s side of the family are nice, blue eyes and his hairline (which is a good thing).

I’ve pretty much experienced every part of puberty except for two things: growth spurt and an excess amount of facial hair. I’ve been fairly skinny most of my teenage, and have yet to go through a growth spurt. There’s been no dramatic change in weight until recently (I’ve put on 25-30 pounds, which is good). There’s been no dramatic increase in height, only steady gains. A tracker of my height:
Age 12: 5’0
Age 14: 5’6
Age 16: 5’8
Age 17: 5’8 – 5’8 1/2
Since November of 2011, I’ve grown 1 1/2 to 2 inches (in 5 months). Over the years I’ve grown an average of 2 inches per year, and this year seems to be abnormal. I’m predicting 5’11 by this summer.
As far as facial hair goes, I just started getting facial hair around last spring.

I still have growing pains, and have been experiencing them a lot more than last year. Last year I could count all the growing pains I had on one hand, a few months ago I started getting them more frequently, and for the past month or two I’ve been having growing pains 3-4 days a week (mostly in my arms, legs, shoulders, and hips/lower back).

The sudden growth spurt might have to do with me being more active. The last couple of years I’ve been lazy. I’ve spent most of my time inside on the computer, rather than outside exercising. Since the beginning of this year, I’ve been exercising regularly: working out, running, and playing basketball (the last one takes up the majority of my time).

So long story short, how tall would you expect me to be?

admin answers:

Your genetic potential based on your parent’s heights is about 5’11″.

So Yes, you are going through a growth spurt, and at the end of this summer can be about 5’11″.

Susan Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Susan asks…

Help & advise about anorexia?

hey i have started recovery from anorexia ( about 5 weeks now ). im 18, 5 foot 6. I was told if i didn’t put on weight i would have to go in as a inpatient but really want to do it in the comfort of my own home. i have a few questions i would like answering

1. I am following a meal plan constructed by my amazing dietrition but 2 days ago i started yet another suppliment called calogen i took it for a day and i weighed myself the next morning and my weight had gone from 6 stone to 6stone6 in a day. I also notice yesterday that my ankles were really puffy. i just wondered if anyone was in the same situation.

2. Also i was given a portion size list and i get my mom to plate up my meals now ( which is a big improvement i must say icon biggrin Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye ) but when its time to eat i don’t feel hungry but complete everything that is on my plate because i know its the right thing to do. my worry is that as my portion size has got bigger i can clear my plate but dont ever feel full or uncomfortable.is this normal??? this is a problem for me because at the moment my meal plan consists of 3 meals, 2 snacks, 2 fruit juices, 1 can of ensure and the calogen taken 3 times a day and in my eyes for the amount i have been eating i should feel full. shouldn’t i???

3. I have done no exercise for a while now and to start with it really did bother me because i felt fat and lazy all the while but now it doesn’t seem to concern me at all. I would like to start doing sit ups and/or crunches but i have been told that you are suppose to gain the weight before you start doing this. is this true or would anyone recommend that i do them as i gain weight and, if so how many do you suggest i do daily?

4. when i started recovery i cried every time it came to eating something but for the past 2 weeks i have been fine with it all and have even started adding little things like butter and my bread and small things like that. over the past 2 weeks tho, i have had no anorexic thoughts or feelings really , which is a good thing but is it normal to just suddenly stop having them?

5. the last thing is, if any recovering/ recovered anorexics would tell me about their recovery (feelings, meal plans, sorts of foods you eat, exercise, what changes in your body you experienced, words of motivation, ect) i would love to read about them so at least i won’t feel alone and know that i am doing the right things.

IM SORRY HOW LONG THESE QUESTIONS ARE BUT ANSWERS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Much love kaylz xx

admin answers:

The puffy ankles is oedema, best to tell the dr because the sudden increase in food leads to re-feeding syndrome, not always but it’s common, so make sure you let your dietician know EXACTLY what symptoms you are having.

About the anorexic thoughts, yeah it will stop, but if you get them, deal with the emotions by crying / writing it out / talking to someone. But try not to take it out on food. You will deal with the emotions, but the challenge is to take the focus away from food like the anorexia wants you too. YOU are stronger than anorexia, dont let it control you.

Try not to exercise, if you must, just walk for 15-20mins a day maximum. At least for now, then you can safely increase the walking to 30-45mins a day. Try taking up something like salsa dancing, or swimming once you feel ready. You’d keep your fitness level, help regain / repair your muscles too. But again, not too soon. Try and only exercise when you feel ready and ready enough that you can ENJOY it, and not do it to burn calories / lose weight.

About feeling full, its best to eat slowly but not too slowly, it helps you -not be full-, so i’m guessing thats what you’re doing. It’s better for the digestive system too as obviously if someone ate faster, they experience gas and bloating and of course indegestion. You’re on the right track, KEEP GOING!

Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

June 17, 2012
By

Sandra Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Sandra asks…

What do you think of my short story / essay / writing?

Note: In the future, we will pretend my boyfriend never happened.

I am a hermit. No, not those hermit frogs that you find in the ocean.
A hermit is when your boyfriend named Matthew dumps you at the school playground during recess time. And so that’s how come I am sad and lonely today.

I am like Jaseline, who wears makeup and sings with the radio about having a broken heart, and is older than me in many other ways, too. Only I don’t like those songs on the radio. And I don’t wear makeup. But I am sad, like her.

Also, I am very sorry to report that Mathew has a severe vision problem. That’s because he did not see me when I told him “Hi Matthew, how are you today? I am good. The weather is lovely today. Don’t you think so?” I said that to impress him with my level of adultness ‘cause I always hear mommy talking about weather with our neighbors for centuries.

Only he didn’t answer. So I went to him again, “HOW ARE YOU, SIR?”
And he just walked right past me to Elizabeth. Elizabeth is the rich girl who wears cream-white ruffly-layered skirts with laces. Also, she wears pink bows on her French braids.
Elizabeth is so pretty and shiny that her sparkleness probably flashed in and hurt Matthew’s eyes. And so that’s how come he didn’t see me, I think.

I think that the president should make it illegal to be that pretty. Cause then boys will become blind, which is not always such a good thing. And girls will be helplessly broken- hearted, like me. That is no good, either.
To show Matthew how angry I was at him, I stood real tall on the top of the slides and yelled on the top of my lungs:”MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. OH…HI THERE, SIR. THERE IS ONLY ONE ME IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD! I AM AN ENDAGERED SPECIES. AND SO PLEASE BECOME MY BOYFRIEND AGAIN!”

100 kids froze and stopped playing to stare at me. And laugh a whole lot. When Matthew he didn’t answer, I got worried- maybe he’s deaf, too…

So I yelled even louder: “I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME, MATTHEW. I AM NOT TALKING BEACAUSE I WANT TO EXERCISE MY TONGUE. AND SO PLEASE ANSWER, MISTER. OKAY?”
Since I exceed in asking questions, he exceeds in answering them.
“Well maybe you should exercise your fatty tongue — it talks too much,” that boy said.
And the kids laughed and laughed. But that’s not even funny.

And so I went to my bestest friend. Her name is Mommy. AND GUESS WHAT SHE SAID WHEN I TOLD HER HOW I BECAME INTO A HERMIT TODAY? “You’re too young for a boyfriend, honey. You’re only 8,” that’s what she said.
“No I’m not. I even told Matthew “the weather is lovely today, isn’t it” just like you do. She started laughing and laughing. She even called Grandma to tell her.

I don’t know what’s wrong with that woman.

admin answers:

A few minor however, forgivable errors. I found myself smiling all the way through, and loving the simple dialog and the child logic used to explain the situation and her feelings, it’s quite funny.
Excellent work.

Keep writing!

Jenny Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Jenny asks…

What illness do I have?

I’ve had most of these symptoms for 6 years. Doctors haven’t been very helpful. I’m 22 right now. I eat well, exercise/run daily, sleep 8-12 hours, don’t drink alcohol.

- dry hair, falling out a little bit daily with dandruff that doesn’t go away despite special shampoos
- dry skin, especially on the face
- dark circles under eyes and tired lines
- post-nasal drip in the morning
- nasal congestion
- fatigue
- low energy
- sleep for 8-12 hours, still tired
- bad memory, hard to concentrate
- constipation or diarrhea
- abdominal pain, usually in the morning
- gas
- heartburn (new symptom)
- cold hands and feet frequently, regardless of weather
- feeling really cold sometimes
- can’t eat in the morning
-constantly sore/tired eyes
-nose running a lot when outside or eating
-yellow/brown/clear phlegm every morning
-sore throat in the morning
-sensitive to light
-constant dead skin on lips
-trembling legs when standing (hard to describe)
-acne (I know this is normal at my age, but I also know that this kind of acne is more indicative of how badly my body is functioning rather than normal acne)
-bad breath
-pale complexion
-hemorrhoids
- second-long tremors across all body daily
-a lot of floaters in vision
-constant abdominal noises
- symptoms get better in evening

So far my ideas are hypothyroidism (not likely cause im male and young) or lyme disease.

Robert Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Robert asks…

I fainted I need help..scared..?

fainted for a short time like barely a minute in class today. The room was steaming hot and wasn’t feeling good all day. I suppositly didn’t bang my head the teacher caught me while I was up to tell her I need to go to the nurse and I opened my eyes and I was on the floor. Before I fainted i felt like I was going to throw up in like the pit of my stomach and my vision got all blurryish and then like i felt warm, but the room was unbearablely hot! I woke up and like I snapped back to normal i was completely fine and vision perfect. My head hurts a tiny bit i don’t know if it’s stress from embarrassment I mean I was rolled out in a wheel chair for gods sake and I felt fine, I’m a little tired I wake up early for school which is normal. This happened to me last year a couple times(I was just a little shakey then like I cooled my face down and I was perfectly fine no fainting but blurrish vision again), i don’t eat that much in school on the count of i’m not hungry. I’ve been exercising and cutting down my food lately, possible not taking the approaite calories in a day. My mom talked to a doctor and said to take me to the ER I flipped and I don’t know if my head hurts from whatever I just have a little head ache nothing serious, but I’m really scared to get blood work done if I go like what should I do?!?!

I need help!

p.s
wasn’t feeling to great all day and then my friend had a bad headache the night we had a sleepover before we went to bed..i don’t know I just need advice!

I’ve been cutting down on what i’m eating and exercisng a lot more like I don’t if the change is just like a shock, but I lost like 7ish pounds in a short amount of time and all…

do you think i will be fine if I wait until tomorrow to see how I feel and then do something about it tomorrow

I need opinion’s!

admin answers:

Its so important to keep a good amount of sugar in your blood or all sorts of things can go wrong.
Even if your not really hungry you need to snack on something, your brain might not fancy it but your body needs it. The heat in the room would not have helped as you’d lose nutrients and salts in your sweat. Get a good healthy eating plan from a nutritionist and up the calories gal!!

Mary Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Mary asks…

how can i convince my parents to home-school me?

(background)
– I want to be home-schooled cause i just found out i have something wrong with me where stress makes me black out, pass out, memory loss, chance of temporary blindness (w/ chance of permitting), vomiting, extreme headaches, mini seizures, and a “brain tumor” (not cancer but is behind my eyes and grows w/stress). That i am slightly over weight and if i got to the right health i wouldn’t experience any of these. but i never have time to work out because my mom & dad have me go to a school 1 1/2 hrs away (i drive everyday) making me get home do a 1-2 hrs of homework (finishing around 8 o’clock). because of the gas $ everyday i cant afford to go to a gym and i live in MN and its -20 most the school year but if i was home-schooled my parents could afford a gym membership for me.
– problem is they think i want to be home-schooled because i want to be lazy i just want time to exercise, and they don’t listen to me and think im being over dramatic and faking when i get sick even though they know about this
-no one at my school knows i have something wrong with me they just think i put no effort in school (memory loss)

admin answers:

If it’s for medical reasons, then get your doctor involved in the conversation.

Homeschooling can be as flexible as you choose, but if your parents think it’s because you’re ‘lazy’ then they will want you to duplicate your school experience at home…which will be long hours at home. A few ideas-
here is a free, online curriculum that is available through most schools. Your school pays for it, it’s covered (well, nearly all schools, check;) it’s an online school, certified teachers check your work, you just stay home. Notices will be sent to parents if there is a problem, and they can check your work as well. All books are online. You can design your own schedule..work out in between lessons, etc. You will have due dates, though.

have them look at this. When my 9yo wanted to go back to school, i gave it a trial run. You might ‘give it a trial run’, for the remainder of the year.’ are you really dedicated?
Then you may want to try and school through the summer. If you are dedicated, then going through summer instead of staying out and having fun should show them.

Hope this helps!! And these are teachers..so if you start being ‘lazy’-place no doubt, the parents will get an email!!-your assignment was not turned it;)

Mandy Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Mandy asks…

How long will it take to correct my lazy eye.?

I’m currently 18. I noticed my lazy eye when I was 16. I have lazy eye in my right eye which looks up leftwards when I try to look left, but it kind of fine when I look right. I am doing eye exercises with both eyes(should I only train my right eye?) and I patch my good eye for around 3 hours on weekdays and 10 hours on weekends. Starting now, how long will it take for my lazy eye to correct or how long until I see any sign of improvement?

admin answers:

What you’re describing is strabismus not “lazy eye”, these are two different things.

Highly unlikely that your crossed eye will become aligned with “exercises” or patching the eyes, which usually only works for kids under 8 or so.

Note: eyepatching procedure must be performed only by an optometrist, not by oneself.

Helen Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

Helen asks…

What can I do to fix my lazy eye in my right eye.?

I went to the eye doctor to get my eye checked, but they didn’t really seem concerned about my lazy eye in my right eye. I asked the doctor and he said that there “might” be a few tangled muscles or something like that, but that’s just a guess. He said that I need to see someone who specializes in eye surgeries. I don’t want to get a surgery since it is quite costly and since my family doesn’t have a lot of money, I don’t want to burden them. I am currently 18 (turned 18 last month) and started noticing my lazy eye when I was 16. It didn’t really bother me because I thought it would go away eventually. When I try to look left with my head straight, my left eye is fine, but my right eye looks left-upward. When I look right, everything is fine. I looked around and saw that there are easy and free ways to cure the lazy eye. I want to cure it permanently and as uncostly as possible. I also heard that it’s harder to cure lazy eye the older you are. Since this was noticed when I was 16 and I’m currently 18, is it too late for me? Is there any way to cure it without getting surgery? If yes, then what can I do to cure it?

**Summary for lazy people like me**

1) Lazy eye in right eye
2) Noticed at age 16
3) Currently 18
4) Right eye looks left upward/upward when looking anywhere left right head straight.
5) Do not want to get surgery
6) Want the best/easiest/cheapest way to cure it.
7) Is it too late? Is surgery my only option?

Specific training exercises and tips are highly asked of.

Thank you
When I close my left eye and use my right eye only, it works fine.

You can try patching. It’s simple and free. Just put a patch (or bandanna, etc.) over your good eye for a few hours a day, so your lazy eye is forced to focus like it’s supposed to. It should help strengthen the muscles. You can also try eye exercises. The ones on this page are good -http://www.wikihow.com/Exercise-Your-Eyes

I would personally not do the ones that involve putting pressure on your eyes. And always do the palming after the exercises to relax your eyes. Relaxation is just as important as the exercises.

Not sure exactly how much they will help you, but they’re free, and they’re good for your eye health icon smile Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye
