Mark asks…

My sister needs glasses?

My mom says my little sister needs glasses. She’s the youngest of 2, in the 3rd grade.

We are worried because no one in my family has ever needed glasses. Luckily, this goes for my grandparents on both sides as well. Only my grandpa on my dad’s side actually needs them to read the morning paper, but even without them, he can make out words.

THE QUESTION: Since my sister’s still a growing kid, I was wondering if there is any way to improve her vision naturally.

I have no idea how glasses work, so I’m just spewing any additional info you may need:

–Just in case you need an idea of my family’s ages, my parents are 40-50 years old, and my other sister and I are 18 and 20.
–I am unsure but my mom said my sister’s 27 of 20/20. What does that mean?
video games than my other sibling and I did when we were little. Also, she does not eat healthy. Personally, I think this is why she needs them.

Any help, advice, or input would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much!

I wore glasses for a couple of years and became very nearsighted. But one day I was bored at home and googled natural ways to improve eyesight. I found something called the Bates Method. It was a method to improve eyesight made by doctor William Bates in the early 1900s. He helped a lot of people with different vision problems improve their vision and get rid of their glasses. Doctors ofcourse will tell you that the eye exercises of the Bates Method don’t work because they want to sell you glasses. But tell your sister to relax and do palming.Tell her to sit in a comfortable position and cup her eyes with her hands so there isnt any light going through them. Tell her to relax for a couple of minutes. Tell her to rest her elbows in a table or desk so her hands dont get tired while palming. Also have her look at far away objects and then near objects to work the cilary muscle. Tell her to play outside more and exercise and not to watch a lot of tv or play video games. You can google more exercises and relaxation techniques because the Method says the person must relax if they want to improve. I was able to achieve normal vision and don’t wear glasses anymore.

Lisa asks…

Glasses and sight improvement?

I wear glasses for astigmatism -0.75,-1.75,180 and my friend -4.5 in both eyes.

My son given glasses for +0.50,-1.00,180 and her daughter told yesterday needs glasses for +1.00 in one eye and +3.00 in the other.

Just a bit confused as to why my eyesight is gradually getting worse, friends seems to have settled, my son has been told his may gradually worsen like mine and friend daughter has been told hers will probably head back down towards 0.

Any opticians out there explain ?
My friend and our are late 20′s and the 2 children are 5 and 6 yrs old.

Can you free yourself from contact lenses and glasses completely, naturally and without surgery? Read on to see how I did this seemingly impossible feat.

More than 10 years ago, I began a quest to improve my vision. I was 35 years old at the time and once again I needed to get a stronger pair of glasses to pass my motor vehicle eye test. I was quickly sliding down the slippery slope of dependency on corrective lenses – a path not unfamiliar to 100 million or more Americans. The stronger the lenses, the less my eyes had to work and the weaker they got (and the cycle starts over again). I began a search for another way. At the heart of my search was the seemingly unreachable goal of eliminating my need for corrective lenses of any kind. Laser eye surgery was either not readily available or not as widespread as it is now. Plus it was incredibly expensive not to mention the risk to your eyesight. As a young man, I had assumed that God had blessed me with spectacular vision. 20/20 until well past my 20′s. And perhaps He did. But not in the way that you might think. When I was about 30 years old I started to notice a slight blurrying of my vision. When my vision began to show signs of degradation, I immediately began looking for the cause. Yes, the cause. Why did my vision work “yesterday” but now seem to need some help? As you will read, I do not readily accept many things that most people view as inevitable and that included the need for glasses.

All of my life, I have been surrounded by people that wear corrective lenses of some sort. Kids everywhere have glasses or contacts. I should feel fortunate that I didn’t need glasses until my 30′s, right? But why should I (or anyone) need glasses so early in life? Why do kids need glasses? Could it be that, with few exceptions, the eyes just do not function properly for as long as the rest of the body? It just didn’t make any sense to me. But, now at 46 years of age, I have no need for any corrective lenses and I did not have surgery. My eyes are as good as they were when I was a kid – better than 20/20.

Thomas asks…

my eye power low 1.75minus how can i improe?

admin answers:

There is not a way to improve it naturally, you can wear glasses/contacts but they will not improve your eyesight, you can have laser eye surgery which is there to help you see without glasses or contact lenses, but in reality laser eye surgery only covers the symptoms if your myopia is eye ball shape related but if is is corneal related then it improves it.

Good luck

George asks…

short-sightedness: best options?

this is random why I decided to ask this but:

Ive been wearing glasses for the past 5 years. Im now 16>17.

im -325* shortsighted (it has been staying like this for a long time) so i can do without glasses but i just wont be able to read anything.

ive heard that contact lenses are bad for eyes especially im not over 18 and so as laser eye surgery (not good for young ppl and expensive and risky).

is there actually some way of me getting my eyesight back, naturally, or do i have to continue wearing glasses?

admin answers:

You can try doing exercises to improve your vision. I recently started doing eye exercises to try to improve my vision. I created a blog where I record my progress with the exercises.

My vision is 20/400, which is really poor.

Other people have posted comments about their experiences as well. You can check it out at:

Here are some articles with some useful tips:

Sharon asks…

I got punched in the eye, is it normal for the vision to be blurry?

Saturday night I was punched in the eye, the punch hit my eye glasses, and it broke some of the bones around my eye-socket and some sinus bones. Half of my face swelled up, and the swelling is now receding and I can open the eye again (I wasn’t able to after it happened), but the eyesight out of that eye is considerably more blurry then it is out of the other eye.

I look in the mirror and there is a stripe of blood inside the eye outside the pupil, I figured that’s probably just a broken blood vessel. I’m naturally near-sighted which is why I wear glasses, but normally without glasses i can see things close fine, but now even near things are blurry (but it seems to improve with time) out of that eye.

admin answers:

I’d strongly recommend getting that looked at.

There are a number of structures that can be damaged by excess pressure in the eye.

John asks…

Should i wear glasses or not?

i heve 0.5 negative dioptre lenses on both eye some people say if you wear glasses your defect will be permanent

admin answers:

It depends on how you feel (headaches, etc.), see and the cause of it. Some people only have pseudo myopia because they are using their near vision too much (computer without blinking, staying too close to the screen, reading book at less than 30cm).

If you have bad habits (use your near vision too much), you could just see if it improves with time by changing them.

Wearing glasses or not wearing them will not change your eyesight, it will change naturally. If it improves, it wasn’t real myopia, if it worsens, it’s what happens for most people who are nearsighted no matter what they do with their glasses.

Don’t wear them for near vision though, if you feel the need to use them. It is not necessary.

Thomas asks…

How can you heal myopia or nearsightedness?

How can you naturally heal nearsightedness?

admin answers:

There is no actual way to cure myopia naturally!
There are different ways to correct it though. Obviously you can use corrective lenses (contacts or glasses) Or some type of laser surgery. Although laser eye surgery is not suited for everyone and there are risks and possible serious complications!
Also if you have myopia under -6.00 you could try othro k!
Ortho K is when you wear special contact lenses while you sleep to reshape your cornea so during the day without wearing the lenses you will be able to see. However the effects are temporary and you must continue to wear the lenses at night to keep the desired effect. The good thing it is reversible if you are not satisfied and there are way less side effects then laser eye surgery.
Eye exercises do not actually work at all! Talk to your eye doctor about it!

Oh ya I just wanted to add pinhole glasses only work while you are wearing them ( and they look ridiculous) and there is no actual foods that improve eyesight…. Just eat healthy to help help prevent eye disease

Ruth asks…

Eye exersises gave me 20/20 vision does that mean eye doctors are not tellling the public the truth?

I went from 20/175 TOO 20/20 does that mean dr. Bates really did learn how to cure the eye from myopia. When i took my took my exam the doctor kept looking at me with a weird grin on his face. It was scary. so my question are
Why did my eye doctor tell that i could use eye doctors when it was proven to work in some studies?
Are optomoligist ignoring the idea of eye exersises by doctor Bates?

admin answers:

Congratulations. Great job. I would love to interview you for a case history. I am trying to keep good documentation of my students successes and even those who are not my students. I especially like to document those who stumble upon the principles of natural perfect eyesight and improve their vision without ever hearing about the Bates method or Natural Eyesight Improvement.

One thing that is very important is to differentiate self healing activities from eye exercises. Self healing activities and principles of natural perfect eyesight do improve eyesight. Most of what we hear being pushed as natural eyesight is real eye exercises of eye pushups, eye drills, and eye aerobics. These more often introduce strain and tension and increase blur. Only self healing activities and principles of natural perfect eyesight improve eyesight.

Dr. Bates called some of his principles of natural perfect eyesight eye exercises in the beginning of his discoveries. Some people tried to copy what he was doing without asking him how he did or why. The best they could come up with was real eye exercises of eye pushups and eye drills. Without the principles of natural perfect eyesight, these eye pushups and eye drills become forceful and effort-full. Natural perfect eyesight is effortless easy and amazing.

When eye doctors say eye exercises don’t work, they are partially true and partially deceptive. Most people when they hear this forget about the idea of natural perfect eyesight and just continue on the path of blurry vision habits and stronger artificial corrections(glasses, contacts, and surgery). Just because eye exercises(eye pushups, eye aerobics, eye yoga) don’t work doesn’t mean we can’t relearn how to see clearly naturally.

Robert asks…

How can I fix my eyesight?

I can’t see far away and might have to get glasses soon. Can I fix my eyes naturally without laser surgery?

admin answers:

People have been claiming to have developed exercises that improve eyesight for years. You’ll notice that the Lasik people haven’t gone out of business yet. Also, don’t fall for the “wearing glasses makes your eyes weaker” nonsense.

Unfortunately, there is no way of fixing your eyesight short of laser surgery.

Robert asks…

How to improve eyesight naturally?

i have bad vision but unless i am not watching something far i dont wear glasses, is that healthy and what can i do so my eyes can get better without having laser eye surgery or anything? and is it bad to rub your eyes?

admin answers:

Yes, you can improve eyesight naturally, take a look at the link below.

Rubbing your eyes is not necessarily bad, but should definitely be avoided if done as a result of irritation or something in your eye.

Lisa asks…

Is it possible to correct eyesight naturally?

If so, how?

admin answers:

You have 2 approaches. (Both have evidence that they helped some people restore their eyesight)

Everything mentioned below is essentially free. The books do have a pricetag but you can still read a review of it online to judge for yourself whether its a suitable purchase. If after starting the exercises you change your mind and want to wear glasses again that will always be possible.

APPROACH 1.

This is based on eye exercises, relaxation and learning what are bad vision habits. They usually suggest not wearing any glasses during the day. This might be a problem if you have a strong prescription:

Some books:

‘Natural Vision Improvement’ by Janet Goodrich
‘Relearning To See’ by Thomas R. Quackenbush
‘Improve Your Eyesight’ by Jonathan Barnes
‘Better Eyesight Without Glasses’ by W.H. Bates
‘Help Yourself to Better Sight’ by Margaret D. Corbett
‘The Art of Seeing’ by Aldous Huxley

Some sites:

http://natural-vision.co.uk/

http://visionsofjoy.org/

http://naturalvisioncenter.com/

APPROACH 2:

You stop wearing your regular distance glasses and instead go around all day with your natural eyesight. But for 1 or 2 hours a day you wear reading glasses. Wearing them does initially create more blur but if you are wearing +1.00 strength reading glasses your eyes should be able to adjust within 10-20 minutes and there should be no more blur caused by them.

There is a book which explains this method:
‘The secret of Perfect Vision’ by David de Angelis

The author claims to have restored his vision from having a prescription of something like -4.00 ten years ago. His method has backing from the majority of scientific research on eyesight.

Other tips i have for you are to spend more time outdoors if possible, not to live in an area of the world with a high level of myopia. (Yes i know its not a nice to say but if youre serious about eyesight then you know what your priorities are). Also avoid allowing your mind to go crazy or run like a crazy horse.
Seeing is like feeling with your hand. You need patience and some time to feel something with your hand. Seeing with your eyes is a similar process.

With regards to the people (who by coincidence are people who sell glasses) telling you eye exercise is a bad thing…please consider the following example

If you wanted to know what cola is best (pepsi or cocacola) would you expect a person working for pepsi to give the answer… Cocacola???

Its all about brand loyalty

Donald asks…

is there anyway to bring down my eye-prescription naturally?

I an 19 years old and my eye prescription keeps going up every year. It is currently at 7.5 and I don’t know what to do, my family has a history of bad eyes. My family members have both astigmatism and glaucoma. What should I do besides eye surgery since the doctor said I am not old enough for it yet.
Did your eye prescription change after the surgery, and how are your eyes doing now?

admin answers:

Yes, it’s possible to improve eyesight naturally because my prescrption was almost -4 and so far I’ve reduced to less than -2 and I’m not stopping there. I’m using a method I found in a book which includes both exercises and a correct use of glasses (i.e. Undercorrections ). I’m doing it by myself and I didn’t spend anything other than the money to buy the book, because I already had undercorrections which were my old and weaker glasses . These natural methods require time and patience and I’m sure most people wouldn’t endure them for more than a month. Nowadays people want everything immediately and with no effort. Unfortunately these methods are not considered by eye-doctors except behavioural optometrists. Most doctors will always tell you that if these things worked, nobody would wear glasses. Nice reasoning… As I said these things take too much time (months when a prescription is moderate and much longer for higher prescriptions). However I decided that it was worth it and I do not regret all the time I’m spending doing that. Unfortunately I can’t really help you, because if I told you what book I used I would immediately lose my credibility. Sadly Yahoo Answers is sometimes improperly used to advertise products and that’s absolutely not my intention because I’m just the buyer of that book and I’m in no way associated with the author or the publisher. Moreover in this section there are always many angry users (opticians, optometrists and ophtalmologists) who speak of these methods with contempt (“these mehotds never work ! They are a scam !”, “They want just to steal your money !”).
These people are partly right because if you search the web you’ll find many natural methods which promise miracle. That’s exactly the point: whenever they tell you about a method that can greatly improve your eyesight in a short time and with a little effort, then it’s definitely a scam. Nothing can greatly improve your eyesight in a month and without at least some effort. Avoid expensive methods because there’s no reason to spend a lot of money. I spent just $12 and I found not only the description of the exercises but also many scientific explanations regarding nearsightedness and its causes, how the eye works, and so on.

Ken asks…

What are some ways that you can improve your eyesight?

I’ve worn glasses for 5 yrs now and I’ve always wondered, what are some ways that I can improve my eye vision entirely?

admin answers:

Most people can perfect their eyesight naturally without the crutches of artificial corrections(glasses, contacts, surgery) In order to do this we need to unlearn the incorrect vision habits, reintegrate the correct vision behaviors, and undo the damage of artificial corrections and blur.

Avoid anything that talks about eye exercises(eye pushups, eye aerobics, eye yoga). Eye exercises have nothing to do with natural perfect eyesight and can sometimes make things worse.

A good place to start is to read the best books. I have a link to one on my website. Most people have a lot more succes with the support of a local teacher. I also have a link to several of them aroun the world on my website. I’d be glad to interview on you are interested in to make sure they are teaching correct principles.

Donna asks…

Can bad eye sight be improved by eating carrots ?

I really want to see clearly without wearing glasses or contacts. Can I improve vision by eating carrots ?

admin answers:

There is some evidence that suggests eating carrots may help maintain current vision capabilities, there is no solid proof that eating carrots will improve eyesight. Carrots are high in beta-carotene (a pro-vitamin) which converts into Vitamin A. In terms of eyesight, Vitamin A plays an important role in maintaining healthy vision. When the body is deprived of Vitamin A there are risks of vision impairment.

But here are some ways that can help you to improve your vision naturally. The development of vision disorders such as myopia, presbyopia, glaucoma, astigmatism, crossed-eye, lazy eye, cataracts, macular degeneration can be stopped or eliminated through natural healing methods.

So what ways can you improve your bad eyesight? There are several methods that you can start training your vision and some of those are:

1. Sunning and palming
2. Resting and relaxing after long hours doing close work
3. Having enough sleep
4. Looking at far away objects after reading, writing or staring at computer’s monitor
5. Reducing causes of mental stress
6. Blinks more often
7. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetable
8. Consume fish oil and food supplement for the eye more often
9. Relaxing and closing your eyes and imagining places you love to be around
10. Performing eye yoga exercises

Incorporate the above steps into your daily life to avoid or to eliminate vision problems. The techniques above can promote the health of your eyes and you can see the improvement within weeks. Some people have found remarkable vision improvement in just two weeks.

Mandy asks…

What happens if I stop wearing my glasses?

I was thinking that I could heal my eyes naturally some way. I just hate being dependent on my glasses.I wear them all of the time, at work, at home etc….My friend is supposed to wear glasses too but she stopped and says she is trying to see without them.

Any thoughts? I am 25.

admin answers:

Your eyesight will just get worse just get laser eye surgery but if that’s to expensive for you just where conracs like me plus you can sleep with them for a whole week but after that you should take them out a d clean them plus glasses can make vision worse cause they always get thicker contacts can actually help improve your vision trust me my vision is a lot better now that I use contacs
