Your Questions About An Impaired Immune System

Lizzie asks…

What are some good foods and drinks to help boost one’s immune system?

And what exactly is in those foods and drinks that make them so good for the immune system?

admin answers:

I applaud you in your interest in strengthening your immune system with food. As you may know, it is a challenge today to find foods that are mineral rich without added chemicals that are toxic.
The good news is it is possible to find healthy foods that are rich in vitamins, mineral, photonutrients, ect. For you body.

A place to start is looking for raw and organically grown fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Here is a sampling.
Vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, collard greens, and spinach are the great source of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and fiber,

Fruits (like blueberries, bananas , acai, and mangoes.) are good sources of antioxidants and phytonutrients

Proteins containing amino acids aids in the growth and repair of your immune system. Some protein sources can be chlorella , eggs, organic meat and poultry, fish especially those high in Omega-3 fatty acids like salmon, trout and tuna.

Medicinal Mushrooms such as Shiitake, Reishi, Maitake, and Coriolus Versicolor (turkey tail) are wonderful for building your immune system up.

Drinks like Wheatgrass, Aloe vera juice, green tea, and white teas are excellent drink choices to boost your immune system. Holy tea is my favorite, since it also does a great job in cleansing my body and maintaining a healthy weight.

Whole grains like brown rice, millet, buckwheat, oats, and barley are also a valuable source of the vitamins, minerals and fiber that are an essential part of keeping the immune system healthy. Fiber helps cleanse the colon of toxins and helps prevent intestinal infections.

It is also important to avoid “bad” foods (“unprocessed” and “unrefined”) that will weaken your immune system.

Here is some suggestions:
Sugar contains no nutrients. Excessive sugar intake can deplete your body of several vitamins and minerals. Sugar impairs the ability of white blood cells to sweep up and kill bacteria. It also robs the body of key nutrients such as zinc that is vital for the immune function. Sugars food to avoid include soda pop, candy, many cereals, and ice cream.

Coffee
Caffeine is a diuretic that contributes to the body’s loss of important nutrients, such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. The acid in coffee eats away the villi of the small intestine, reducing their effectiveness in supporting nutrient assimilation.

Alcohol (when consumed in excess), is a poison to every system of your body. It depresses the nervous system, inhibits the bone marrow’s ability to regenerate blood cells, is toxic to the liver, depletes B-vitamins, and is dehydrating.

Raw foods such as clams, oysters, sushi, very rare meats, and undercooked eggs contain infectious bacteria and intestinal parasites.

With the advent of pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilizer and green harvesting, our fruits and vegetables lack vital nutrients. Today, it is necessary that our diet will need supplements to the food for the immune system.

Charles asks…

How to fix a Bad Immune System?

I think I have a very bad Immune system. I get sick every time someone I know gets sick. I’ve always been like this every since I was a small child. Right now I am 19 years old and still get sick all the time. Does anyone know how to make your immune system better? I would appreciate any help.

admin answers:

Yes you CAN fix a bad/weak immune system!

To strengthen your immune system, you need to first avoid the things that weaken it such as junk foods; toxins, stress, drugs, and sugar are some examples. These thing also causes you body to be acidic, prime ground for sickness to thrive. Go to this link to learn more on what weakens your immune system. Http://www.immunesystemremedies.com/weak-immune-system.html

To strengthen it, here are many suggestions.

1) Keep practicing good personal hygiene care, wash your hands! The great plague of 1918 could have been avoided by practicing good personal hygiene.

2) Get plenty of rest. During deep sleep, our body release potent immune-enhancing substances that strengthen your immune system function. By not allowing our body sufficient rest, the immune system will sputter, and as a result, not function at full capacity. We then are more likely to become ill with common illnesses. A healthy, deep sleep allows our body to release a significant amount of growth hormone that boost the immune system and aids in the growth and repair of the body.

3) Get moderate and regular exercise
An increase in blood flow associated with moderate exercise helps to circulate antibodies along with white blood cells necessary to fight infection more quickly. As a result, this provides our bodies with an early warning system to ward off potentially damaging germs. In addition, the increase in body temperature as a result of physical activity may aid in inhibiting the growth of bacteria; thus allowing the body to fight infection more effectively.

4) Receiving a Regular Body Cleansing.
Body cleansing is essential because our bodies need to properly eliminate the toxic build up that has formed in our intestines (colon), which may lead to sickness and disease. Our body organs and tissues must be free of toxins for the immune system to function optimally thus enabling our bodies to receive the essential nutrients our bodies need.

5) Boost immune system by drinking plenty of alkaline water.
Water is essential for all living things and keeps our immune system operating optimally while improving the way we feel, look and live. Without sufficient amounts of water, you may experience routine fatigue, dry skin, headaches, constipation, and a decrease normal bodily function, which may lead to your body unable to fight off diseases. Without water we would literally dehydrate which could result in the shutting down of vital organs and ultimately end in death. Alkaline water also balances your pH levels which is very important in avoiding sickness.

6) Eliminate all sugar and allergens from your diet.
Just a small amount of sugar has been proven to impair white blood cells up to 50% for very short periods of time. By discovering what our personal food allergies are, then eliminating or desensitizing them will help strengthen your immune system. By removing these triggers, our immune cells are strengthened in order to combat other invaders such as influenza rather than the allergen. The elimination of sugar from your diet can also strengthen immune system.

7) Eat nutritiously
Good foods to eat include organic fruits and vegetables, chloretta, medicinal mushrooms like maitake, shiitake, reishi, or turkey tail. Besides water, wheatgrass juice or green tea are good drinks.
To restore health, your diet should consist of 80% alkaline forming foods and 20% acid forming foods.

Stay away from junk food like pop, bake goods, any processed foods. Bad foods contain stuff like refined sugar, sodium nitrite, Trans fats, Mono-sodium glutamate (MSG), Artificial colors, preservatives, and flavors.
8) Take supplements
Supplements are needed because our bodies cannot produce the nutrients necessary to maintain optimum health. There are many nutrients needed in order to maintain a strong immune system. It is very challenging in the world we live in to obtain sufficient nutrition with the foods available to us. They are over processed and void of many essential nutrients. Additionally, food is grown in soils that have been over-planted and saturated with synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Vitamin and mineral deficiency subjects us to more diseases, aging, sickness, and the weakening of our immune system. Learn about some good supplements, go to

http://www.immunesystemremedies.com/immune-system-supplements.html

As you can see, there is no one magic cure, one supplement, or one way to boost your immune system, but there are many things you can do to help prevent from getting sick in the future!

Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Lazy Eye

September 16, 2012

Susan asks…

Am I overreacting or is my dad being really unkind to me?

I’m afraid I’m being an over-dramatic teenager but I really feel like jumping off a building right now.
My dad’s been away for 6 months, he CHOSE to go and sit in an office on the other side of the world, and know he’s just sauntered back and being really mean to me. I’ve got a perfect BMI and weight 7.5 stone, but he says I’m getting fat and he’s putting me on a stupidly strict diet and exercise routine. He’s constantly lecturing me about how he deserves a better daughter because I’m not sensible enough, smart enough, careful enough… I want to be a singer but he keeps telling me to get real because I “can’t sing and I’m too lazy to do anything so you’ll end up being a dish-washing housewife” which really hurt me because I have a lot of dreams in life. He constantly makes me feel like crap. Take our last conversation:

Dad: “Did you get the gift bag for the present yesterday?”
Me: “No, sorry I forgot.”
D: “Well you should have remembered, if you could be bothered.”
M: “It’s in the past now dad, let’s not over-react, I can pick one up today.”
D: “Don’t f*cking tell me what to do, you should have remembered instead of going on facebook.”
M: “Dad, it’s not my fault, I mean you didn’t remember either!
D: “I don’t have to remember you’re the one who bought the f*cking present! You’re so useless!
M: “Sorry, I’ll just get one today, I’ll walk to the shop, OK?
D: “How f*cking dare you speak to me like that, I wouldn’t speak to my parents like that and I’m 45. Just get out of my sight. I’ll sort things out, as usual, you insolent little *****.”

That’s how most of our conversations go, so I’ve just stopped speaking to him when I don’t have to, cos I mean why would I want to if that’s all I get? And now he’s calling me hormonal and moody and antisocial and I just can’t win. So then I chat to him and he rolls his eyes and goes “oh NOW you want to talk to me, what do you want, money?” (even though I never ask him for money.)

And now he’s getting all like “oh claudia, you don’t love me, you got bored of me whilst I was gone, why don’t you go f*ck off back to your new dad” (my mum has got a new partner) “because he’s better than me anyway isn’t he?”

And I’ll go “of course not dad, he’s not my dad, you are.” And then he’ll just change the subject and go off on something else, like he always yells at me because I quit boarding school to live at home and go to a local school, saying “you’re so rebelious and too stupid to appreciate something good, go and do drugs with your new chav gang-mates from the chav pit you call your new school but don’t come crying to me when you end up being a bin lady.”

I just can’t win! He won’t leave me alone so when I try and go to my mum’s house he starts like, getting all emotional and trying to kiss me and say he’s sorry and that if I was a better daughter I wouldn’t try and go and stay with my mum instead! It’s evil cos I missed him whilst he was gone but now I just wish he’d go away again!

And now my mum has split up with my stepdad. I really loved him, possibly more than my real dad (!!!) but now he’s got depression so my mum broke up with him, I’m never going to see him again probably, or his dog who I now saw as my dog, or his son who I saw as my brother. We’re moving out of our fabulous fairytale house and what I had of a family is wrecked all over again!!! We’re going back to another shitty apartment and I just feel suicidal because I feel like wherever I turn there’s a dead end. I knew my mum and stepdad would break up eventually, cos I don’t sugar coat things, I know there’s no such thing as a love that never lasts, I mean everybody breaks up the end, but maybe I was hoping to be proved wrong.

I just have nowhere to escape to and all I want to do is run away but I don’t know where’d I go or anything! I know I’m being ungrateful because I have such a good life and everything but right now all I’ve got is tatters of what was a promising new family, and a dad that hates me. The only person I seem to have right now is my best friend, and she’s moving to scotland in two weeks! What the f*ck am I going to do with my life? Sorry for being a whiny teenager etc etc, but PLEASE help me?
Thanks for the answer so far – I am 14 x

admin answers:

How old are you?

Your dad is using you as a verbal punching bag for his own insecurities and trying his best to manipulate you in several ways. Play this as if he will never change his behavior because the odds are very low that it will happen and this decision is entirely under your dad’s control. Is it possible for you to move in with your mom permanently? Sure your stepdad and stepbrother won’t be living there anymore but at least you won’t be someone else’s garbage bin for insecurities.

I asked you your age because eventually, you will live on your own. Yes people can stay together, but everyone has to learn how to be in relationships and learn how to fight without these fights sucking the love from relationships. They are hard lessons, but it’s possible to learn them. Your dad still hasn’t figured it out, from what you’ve written. If it makes you feel better, I will tell you that my boyfriend’s grandparents are still together, in love, and they’re in their 80s. So it’s possible :)

In the meantime, hang in there and take care.

Donald asks…

Does sleeping in the day and staying awake at night make you age faster?

PLEASE READ

Im 18, it all started when.. well its a long story so ill just say “ghosts”.
I can not sleep at night now.
I stay up until 5 or 6 AM oclock, and fall asleep with the light on.
When i wake up at 3 or 4 PM oclock my eyes are red from having the light on…. (ill try to turn off the light)
(i also get pimples, but thats becuase i dont go out in the sun at all and eat unhealthy foods)
So im having 9 hours of sleep normaly.

My question is if i do this sleeping patern, and combine it with a healthy eating and exercise(afternoon walks for vitimin D), can i be healthy and not age fast?

Allso, i could get a night job becuase of this, so dont say its wrong becuase you think its lazy.
Matt, that sleeping to much thing is american propaganda, here in australia, i was taught since child-hood that we should have 11 to 12 hours of sleep, not until highschool everyone started to say NO! Its 8 hours of sleep you nead!

But thanks for the advice.
It was helpful.

admin answers:

The time of day that you sleep has nothing to do with how fast you age. I feel best on a schedule similar to yours, sleeping from about 6 AM to 1 or 2 PM. Some people just do better on a different sleep schedule, and there’s nothing wrong with that. You might be interested in researching “chronotypes.”

However, the amount of sleep that you get may be an issue. Everyone knows that it’s bad to not get enough sleep, but getting too much sleep can also be bad for you. Averaging 9 hours of sleep per night is probably a little too much for an adult. Try to get about 7-8 hours instead.

Edit:
As a child, it would make sense to get 11-12 hours of sleep. As an adult, that would be disastrous. You can call it “propaganda” all you want, but that won’t change the scientific evidence.

Lizzie asks…

What can I do about my extreme hatred for men?

Yes, I am straight.
No, I am not a feminist.
No, I have not been/raped/abused/or otherwise harmed by any male.

Just thought i’d clear that up to save anyone from commenting about how I am a feminazi butch lesbian who has been abused by a man and blah blah…
I am fairly pretty (or so i have been told) and i do get hit on a lot, as usual for any woman, by men who i have no interest in and who i find unattractive.
The reason I hate men is because i find them and their male privilege sickening.
I hate living in fear and men knowing they can scare us so easily, i hate how they sexually harass us on the streets in broad daylight by whistling and making crude comments.
I hate how they KNOW we are more vulnerable in society than they are and how they exercise their power over us and how they normalize it as “Boys being boys” to HELL with that! it’s not normal when you CAN SEE in the woman’s EYES that she does not like it! you know damn well women do not like being harassed and how does a sane person get off on fear anyway?
Men aren’t even gentlemen anymore, they’d sooner hide behind you than protect you, they come up with all sorts of excuses for being lazy, “equal rights” they arrogantly say as if they’ve ever done a chivalrous deed in their life. Spare me.
It has gotten worse which is why I am taking gun classes and soon i hope i get to own one because pepper spray is not enough.

I want men to feel the fear I as a young woman feel EVERY.DAY.
I want them to FEEL how it is when both men AND women think they can say and do anything to you just because of your sex making you less threatening and more approachable.
I’m sick of the skinny jeans wearing, lap top carrying, green tea drinking, granola eating cowards who frantically type away how they do indeed respect women and how they are indeed brave.
Also sick of the false macho beer drinking chubby jerk and the gym freaks who kill it at the gym to compensate for their hideous faces.
There is NO men left on this planet, they have all turned into little girls and yes i do wish i was a lesbian because the pickings are slim when it comes to Men.
They either harass-or let women be harassed- because they sure as heck do not protect you and you cannot count on them for anything.
I don’t even know what they are good for anymore.
You either have the spineless, passive coward, or the arrogant jerk who is also a coward.

So what to do? Because I am about to crack and nuts will break.

admin answers:

Well, you are responsible for your own hate. If you are really interested in readjusting your hatred, I suggest you examine men more fairly. For instance, I don’t holler and whistle at women, and the REASON I’m not chivalrous is because I think it’s a form of sexism. To me, if I were to treat a woman as special, I’m robbing myself of the chance to respect her as an equal. And don’t call me a liar about this. If you don’t like the answer you know you’re going to get, don’t ask the question. And stop dwelling on the topic.

I can’t address the male privilege thing because I don’t know what privilege you’re talking about. Maybe you could cite an example.

As for living in fear, that’s your choice. There are lots of dangerous forces out in the world and I don’t live in fear. I also have NO interest in scaring women. Or anybody, for that matter.

I think your complaint about the catcalling is completely legitimate. That is harassment, and it should stop.

I don’t think of women as more vulnerable. If you do, then you are simply playing the victim. Get out of the mindset of being vulnerable and suddenly your perception will vanish. If you need to carry a gun to feel that way, then you should do that. But you should not carry a gun to garner fear among men. And if you ever brandish it for the purpose of garnering fear you will be arrested, because that’s a crime. You don’t need hope to get a gun. You need a couple hundred dollars and a license. Do it already and stop talking about it.

I don’t feel I can rightly do anything to women just because they’re women. I also don’t think women are non-threatening. I’m socially intimidated by women — and since I’m civilized, my size and strength do not play a factor (in my world view — I can understand how this may not be true to an outside observer).

If you think the pattern of my response automatically makes me a liar, then you’re being completely unreasonable and unfair.

I’m glad you framed the question the way you did because if you’re interested I have an observation and a few suggestions:

You are allowing your hatred to ruin you. You are the one who is suffering, not me or anyone else. It won’t go away automatically or effortlessly. You have to want peace in your life and work for it.

I suggest you start by putting an end to your overgeneralization. You’re blaming an entire gender for the transgressions of the few that are in your microcosm. Try to think macrocosmically.

Then try to forgive the stupid men for their petty harassment. They’re obviously simple creatures who were not taught better. Forgiveness is crucial to love, and love eliminates hate like light eliminates darkness.

If you want peace in the world, create it first within yourself. It radiates outward from there.

Best of luck, love.

Mandy asks…

I AM IN TEARS, DYING DOG. HELP PLEASE.?

I am in complete tears right now. A friend of mine just told me that his dog got in a fight with another dog and is so severley wounded that he cannot move. It’s been three days and he is not eating or drinking or even MOVING. MY FRIEND REFUSES TO TAKE HIM TO THE VET OR GIVE HIM TO THE ASPCA. I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE. AS AN ANIMAL LOVER I AM OUTRAGED. We’re both in highschool and with my dog, I have no money to pay for his dog. PLEASE HELP. WHAT DO I DO? HE IS DYING!
I have no idea how I can take the dog to the vet, I‘ve asked him and he said no. I don’t know where he lives either. I‘ve already explained that vets do down payments or he can hand the dog over to the ASPCA but now he’s pissed at me. I‘ve told him how f*cked up this is, excuse my language but I am OUTRAGED. THE DOG IS OUTSIDE IN THE COLD RIGHT NOW, NOT MOVING, NOT EATING, AND DYING. THE STUPID GUY REFUSES TO TALK TO ME NOW. Our friendship is definitely ruined. He claims that his sister will b*tch at him if he treats the dog since it’s her dog, BUT WTF. I FEEL SO STUCK RIGHT NOW.

admin answers:

You could always call the police or animal control, but most likely they will only put down the dog and get your friend into a heap of trouble. I don’t really see what other options you have.

Sandy asks…

what would you do, would you do, you do? not or is it a poem…?

He stood, brown and handsome knocking on my door
my heart leapt, then hit the floor, as I walked
methodical, sure footed yet mind reeling
trying to shake that feeling boiling in my veins
some one left the taps on, my heart seemed torn
died on my lips the scornful words, the fight in me
had gone, and left me standing there with tears
flooding down my face, looking in those warm
blue eyes my pain would not erase the past we
shared was not prepared to lay down, disappear
and I feared if I gave in, I’d take him to my bed
I conjured up from deep within the strength
that I keep hidden, I put my arms around him
held him close and cried, what closure to
my love insane, would this act provide
and when he kissed me it was that of
my last torn remains, warm but distant
I restrained myself from giving in,
to the love that cursed from its birth
still beckoning and reckless
and
Can I allow my heart to bleed if only for
this night, or will some comfort come to me
this ill timed failure chafes
my bruises blue and black and green
and every lovely shade between
unseen by naked eye are hidden
my tear stained face
remains,
a vision for the crows and ravens
