Archangel – How To Lose Your Best Friend

Enjoy

Sandy asks…

Can anyone review these lyrics I made ?

Doing a project where I need to write and play my own song (guitar), and am sort of under pressure as I have three other academic courses that are piling large assignments in the last few weeks (grade 10)

If anyone could help change/edit/review my lyrics, I would really appreciate it, since I don’t think they’re that good, and they seem incredibly cheesy and sappy.

This road that you’re on/ Traveled by so few
Unsure what to expect/ and undecided what to do

Life is an adventure/ This is not the end
Good luck comes to those who wait/ So shine on my friend

And where you arrive/ in say three years time
Will be nothing to fear/ but to prevail and sublime

So worry not/ My simple friend (repeats X number of times)

It all works out/ For better or for worse
It’s not the destination/ But the journey that hurts ( < – - really want to change this, sounds too sappy/emotional for me. )

admin answers:

I like it how it is but if you want to change the last line you could try “So find your destination and go on course.” I like the meaning but you can’t say “repeat x number of times” you have to have a set number, say repeat it 2 or 3 times, but saying X can mean 30 if yo wanted to, not majour just something i noticed.

Maria asks…

What song are these lyrics to?

Time goes by so slowly for those who wait
No time to hesitate

You Want to Fix the U.S. Economy? Here’s a Start?

My question is do you think this is a good idea and if not, what’s wrong with it?

http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2011/07/you-want-to-fix-the-u-s-economy-heres-a-start/

Here is the text of the link:

Charles Hugh Smith publishes Foreclosure Crisis Weekly, dedicated to documenting the often-amazing foreclosure crisis.

>

A simple 8-point plan would restore both the banking and the real estate sectors, and end the political dominance of the parasitic “too big to fail” banks.

Craven politicos and clueless Federal Reserve economists are always bleating about how they want to fix the U.S. economy and restore “aggregate demand.” OK, here’s how to start:

1. Force all banks to mark all their assets to market at the end of each trading day, including all derivatives of all types, including over-the-counter instruments.

2. Allow citizens to discharge all mortgage and student loan debt in bankruptcy court, just like any other debt.

3. Banks must mark all their real estate to market weekly as defined by “last sales of nearby properties” adjusted for square footage and other quantifiable measures (i.e. like Zillow.com).

4. Require mortgage servicers and all owners of mortgage-backed securities to mark every asset within each pool to market weekly.

5. Any mortgage, loan or note which was fraudulently originated, packaged and sold, including the misrepresentation of risk, the manipulation of risk ratings, fraudulent documentation by any party, etc., will be discharged as uncollectable and the full value wiped off the books and title records without recourse by any of the parties.

If a bank fraudulently originated a mortgage and the buyer misrepresented material facts on the mortgage documents, then both parties lose all claim to the note and the underlying asset, the house, which reverts to the FDIC for liquidation, with the proceeds going towards creditors’ claims against the bank.

6. Any bank which misrepresents marked-to-market asset values will be fined $10 million per incident.

7. Any bank which is insolvent at the end of a trading day will be closed and taken over by the FDIC the following day, and liquidated in an orderly manner via open-market auctions of all assets, including REO (real estate owned).

8. All derivative positions held by the insolvent bank will be unwound immediately, and counterparties who fail to make good on their claims will also be closed, given to the FDIC and liquidated.

You know what this is, of course: a return to trustworthy, transparent accounting. And you know what the consequences would be, too: all five “too big to fail” banks would instantly be declared insolvent, and most of the other top-25 big banks would also be closed and liquidated.

At least $3 trillion in impaired residential mortgage debt would be written off, maybe more, and $1 trillion in impaired commercial real estate would also be written down. Derivative losses are unknown, but let’s estimate it’s at least $1 trillion and maybe much more.

If $5.8 trillion of fantasy “value” is wiped off the nation’s books, that’s only a 10% reduction in net household and non-profit assets, which total $58 trillion. Even an $11 trillion hit would only knock off 20%. If that’s reality, if that’s what the assets are really worth in the real world, then let’s get it over with. Once we’ve restored truthful accounting and stopped living a grand series of debilitating lies, then the path will finally be clear for renewed growth.

The net result would be the destruction of the political power of the “too big to fail” banks, the clearing of the nation’s bloated, diseased real estate market, and the restoration of trust in institutions which have been completely discredited.

Bank credit would flow again, and we could insist on a healthy competitive system of 250 small banks instead of a corrupting system of 5 insolvent parasitic monsters and 20 other bloated but equally insolvent financial parasites.

Those who lied would finally get fried. At long last, those who misprepresented income, risk, etc. would actually pay some price for their malfeasance. Criminal proceedings would be a nice icing on the cake, but simply ending the pretence of solvency would go a long way to restoring banking and real estate and ending regulatory capture by TBTF banks.

What’s the downside to such a simple action plan? Oh boo-hoo, the craven politicos would lose their key campaign contributors. On the plus side, the politicos could finally wipe that brown stuff off their noses.

Where the Government did wrong was in the bail outs. If they had bailed out each citizen with 500,000 per tax paying house hold family and 250,000 for singles, we would not be where we are today.
1) If they taxed the windfall profit that year each would pay back 43% to the Federal Government.
2) That would leave every tax payer who supported the tax based economy with enough to pay off Homes, cars, credit cards,boats etc.
3) This would have been a better stimulus package for the taxpayer rather then a select few.
4) The government would be getting back a windfall of taxes which it has not yet gotten back from the bailouts.

Next is to stop paying foreign countries trillions a year so they can be our friends.(Pakistan gets 1 trillion a year, for what, to hide Bin Laden?)

Next cut all pork funds to the Arts, starving artists?, If they were so good as artists, let them make a living on their own, or let the rich who think they are so great support them by buying their art or going to the opera, ballet etc..

There is so much waste of the tax payers money it is sickening.
Cut all lobby entities which enrich the rich senators and houses already lined pockets. They get paid by the taxpayer and then take money under the table by groups who want bills passed? Seem shady to me, but they have it made as legal to do..Free game day tickets or season passes?

Sandra asks…

Is Technology a Blessing Or A Curse?

Blessing or Curse?
A driver loses control of his car and hits a utility pole, seriously injuring a passenger. Immediately, he uses his cell phone to call for help. But why did he lose control? He momentarily took his eyes off the road to answer his phone.
AS THIS example illustrates, the products of modern technology can be either a blessing or a curse—the choice depends on us. Few people, though, would prefer to go back to the comparatively crude products of yesteryear. Computers, for example, spare us tedious tasks, enable us to buy and bank conveniently online, and help us keep in touch with others by e-mail, voice mail, or video link.
Not too long ago, family members would go their various ways in the morning and not speak to one another again until evening. But now, “70% of couples in which both partners have cellphones contact each other daily just to say hello, 64% contact each other to coordinate schedules, and 42% of parents contact their children daily using a cellphone,” says a report in USA Today.
Do Not Let an Asset Become a Liability
Can the excessive or improper use of technology be harmful mentally and physically? Consider the example of two newlyweds in one Western land. According to a news report, they “were on the phone constantly—in their cars, at the gym, even calling each other from different rooms inside their own house.” At times, they accrued 4,000 minutes—more than 66 hours—a month, and they said that they could not cope without their phones. They have the “classic signs of addiction,” noted Dr. Harris Stratyner, a mental-health specialist. “It’s like they are having a relationship through an object.”
That example may seem extreme, but it reflects a worrisome trend. For many people, the thought of being out of contact for even an hour is unbearable. “We always need to check out e-mail, we always need to be on the Internet, we always have to be on instant messaging with our friends,” said one woman in her 20’s.
If being connected “takes up more and more of your time and it becomes the preferred activity in your life to the exclusion of everything else, that’s the surest warning signal that something is not quite right,” says Dr. Brian Yeo in The Business Times of Singapore. Moreover, people who closet themselves away for hours on end with their gadgets often get little if any exercise and risk developing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or some other serious condition.
Other dangers are more immediate. In regard to cell phones, for instance, a recent study concluded that motorists who talk on either handheld or hands-free devices are as impaired as drunk drivers! Texting while driving can also be lethal, and one survey found that approximately 40 percent of drivers between the ages of 16 and 27 text while behind the wheel. Moreover, if you are tempted to use a cell phone to talk or text while driving, keep in mind that should you have an accident, the police and your insurance company may check your cell-phone use in the moments leading up to the crash. A phone call or a simple text message can prove to be very costly! An investigation into a 2008 train wreck that cost 25 lives in California, U.S.A., revealed that the engineer had sent a text message seconds before the crash. He never even applied the brakes.
Because a growing number of children use cell phones and computers, as well as entertainment media, they need to learn to use these devices wisely and responsibly. All who strive to live by Bible teachings should be particularly concerned about being distracted by anything in any potentially dangerous situation.—Genesis 9:5, 6; Romans 13:1.

Your Questions About If You Choose To Pull The Trigger

October 26, 2012

Carol asks…

If your life was on the line……?

let’s say your life was on the line for one player to score on a shootout attempt against a random goalie…which NHL’er would you choose to take the shot? ( they get one shot at it and there’s a gun to your head- once they are stopped or miss, someone pulls the trigger… who do u choose? and remember the goalie is totally picked at random..could be anyone from Lundqvist to Alex Auld)
* oh, and the player & goalie think they’re doing it for a million dollars; they have no idea your part of it

Helen asks…

Solve this critical math problem?

Henry has been caught stealing cattle, and is brought into town for justice. The judge is his ex-wife Gretchen, who wants to show him some sympathy, but the law clearly calls for two shots to be taken at Henry from close range. To make things a little better for Henry, Gretchen tells him she will place two bullets into a six-chambered revolver in successive order. She will spin the chamber, close it, and take one shot. If Henry is still alive, she will then either take another shot, or spin the chamber again before shooting.

Henry is a bit incredulous that his own ex-wife would carry out the punishment, and a bit sad that she was always such a rule follower. He steels himself as Gretchen loads the chambers, spins the revolver, and pulls the trigger. Whew! It was blank. Then Gretchen asks, “Do you want me to pull the trigger again, or should I spin the chamber a second time before pulling the trigger?”

What should Henry choose?

admin answers:

Henry should have Gretchen pull the trigger again without spinning.

We know that the first chamber Gretchen fired was one of the four empty chambers. Since the bullets were placed in consecutive order, one of the empty chambers is followed by a bullet, and the other three empty chambers are followed by another empty chamber. So if Henry has Gretchen pull the trigger again, the probability that a bullet will be fired is 1/4.

If Gretchen spins the chamber again, the probability that she shoots Henry would be 2/6, or 1/3, since there are two possible bullets that would be in firing position out of the six possible chambers that would be in position.

Is this poem any good? Will choose best answer. Thanks!?

Hi! I just got inspired to write this. No, it didn’t actually happen to me or anyone I know, but it’s not really a far off story. It’s meant to bring strong emotion and awareness, and I want to know if if does that.
Thanks!

Title: Trigger.

-”When’s Daddy coming home? Mama, are we really alone?”
“Daddy’ll be home soon my sweet angel, Allie baby, don’t cry.”

Most types of lying I will never, ever condone,
but this was a completely different kind of lie.

I rocked my peaceful baby to sleep for the last time,
‘Cause deep down in my denial-filled heart I knew;

Tomorrow would be the last day she’d believe that line,
No matter what I desperately say or what I try to do.

Truth is, I found out that yesterday Daddy got killed.
An Iraqi soldier pulled the trigger out of hate;

And believe me baby, this isn’t what God willed…
Daddy tried to clean his wound, but it was already too late.

The other half of me now lays in a shallow grave made of dirt;
and I wish with my all that this didn’t have to be..

and Allie darling I know this will always hurt;
but for both of us I hope you‘ll always have me.

Our family won’t be destroyed by a metal bullet casing;
and I know how this burns, but we’ll make it out alive..

and now even though all our fears we’re facing;
your Daddy would want us to thrive.

Even though your daddy lies in the dry desert dust;
As I rock you this night, know that we’ll be okay;

Even though Daddy won’t be here to see us..
Don’t worry my Allie, we will see better days.

Now, Allie baby we’ll have to trust just in the Daddy above;
He’s always been in control and loved every man…

Just know that with him you have the greatest kind of love,
And though our things aren’t their best, Big Daddy has a plan.

I read it twice and it just didn’t do anything for me. I feel no emotion in this poem, just words that you are writing trying to make them rhyme. I would keep working on it. The words are there but the feelings are not.

Your Questions About Carnitine

Lizzie asks…

How to take L-Carnitine and CLA for weightloss?

Hello, I just recently bought L-Carnitine and CLA for weight loss at GNC. The guy there said 90 capsules were enough for a month for each supplement. I forgot how he told me to take them, with meals or without? or How many times a day to take them. The L-Carnitine is 500mg and the CLA is 1000mg. Could someone please help me.

admin answers:

I forget on how to take the L carnitine but CLA works great but you need atleast 5000 mg’s per day to see any results. I take 1000-2000 mg with every meal up to 8000 mg’s per day. I don’t think taking any more than that will help you any more. I also suggest you find another location other than
GNC to buy anything from.

GNC is the most over priced store on the planet for supplements.

Jenny asks…

it is okay to to combine l carnitine with green tea extract?

i exercise 1 hr every day, eat healthy. i just need a little help to burn more fats. Thanks ( i don’t depend on them tho! I do not believe in sole diet pills without working out and eating healthy ). Just really need a little help.

admin answers:

Definetly, although I would recommend paying a higher price for Acetyl-L-Carnitine. The bioavailability of it is twice that of regular L-Carnitine. I would take 500 mg pre and post exercise.

John asks…

Is L-Carnitine powder just as effective and fast absorbing as liquid?

Also, what flavor is NOW Foods L-Carnitine powder?
I really meant is it unflavored? Cause thats what I really need

admin answers:

Just as fast, Get you some juice or milk to add it to,

Your Questions About Google Calendar

John asks…

How do I sync my Google Calendar to Meeting Maker?

I want to have all my events on my google calendar synced with Meeting maker. How is this done? I tried exporting an iCal from my google calendar into meeting maker, and it worked great, but how do I update any changes on Google Calendar?? I tried importing a new iCal but it just duplicated all the previous events already there when it added the new changes or new events.
I want my events to go from Google to Meeting Maker, NOT Meeting Maker to Google.

admin answers:

This is not a very good solution but: http://support.remc1.net/supportwiki/MeetingMakertoGoogle

Maria asks…

Can I make a Google calendar public to people without a Google account?

I have created a calendar for fellow officers on a youth board, but not all of them have Google accounts. Is there a way for those without Google accounts to access the calendar?

admin answers:

I believe so. Just change the privacy settings and use the calendar widget to publish it to a website or something.

Susan asks…

What suggestions do you have for using google calendar for homework?

Im trying to utilize my Google Calendar more for my college classes. I’ve been suggested to track in it my chunks of time to manage when to study.. But I quite don’t understand ways to do that. @_@ Does that make sense? In general, I’m looking for open opinions/suggestions for ways to incorporate homework and study time into my schedule.

admin answers:

A Google calendar does not seem that useful.

I myself would use Excel.
If you do not have Excel then use open-office.
Free at http://www.openoffice.org/

Excel is easy to learn and a very important part of every business.
