Your Questions About If You Choose To Take This Mission

July 17, 2012
By

Laura asks…

Will the Holland Rescue Mission take me in if I intentionally move out of my home? (PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION!!)?

PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION:

I am 17 years old, and I live with my parents. My brother got out of the air force almost 3 years ago and is 25 years old. When he started having major anxiety issues, (Mostly due to Marijuana Usage) my parents let him come in. He was told not to use any drugs, even if they are legal, as long as he is living under my parents roof. He has since then gotten 2 DUI’s in a 3 month period, had jail time, and has become broke from breaking my parents rules and continuing to by alcohol and drugs. He is currently on probation and has been sober for almost 4 months. Unfortunately, he has been fired from his jobs for poor attendance and lack of motivation. He is currently on an anti-anxiety medication called Klonopin. When he takes this, his speech is slurred and he eats like crazy. His inhibitions have dropped and his coordination is impaired. He also failed a very recent drug test. He will not tell my parents what for.

As he has been living with us for almost a year (3 months from now), he still doesnt have a job, a college education, nor is he trying to make any effort. My parents are in deeper debt because they are trying to save him from declaring Bankruptcy. I am home schooled, but NEED to get a high school diploma. My brothers health issues are taking a toll on my ability to function in school, as he is a constant distraction to my parents, and is taring my family apart. My parents and I are very strict Christians, so please try to understand the seriousness of this matter through what we, as Christians, believe.

I don’t know how my parents would react if I were to be able to go to the Mission and admit myself into our Public School System in Michigan, but I do know I cant live here as long as my brother is here. My parents cant stand to send my brother to the mission, so maybe I’m the one who needs to go.

Please help.

Also.
Please do not assume that I don’t have any sympathy for people who have anxiety or depression. I have witnessed both at major levels and have been hospitalized many times. I do not have sympathy for Stupid decisions, which I myself have also made many of. We all have a choice, but if we choose the wrong choice, it is our own fault and we will reap the “benefits”.

Please be kind, and thank you so much!

admin answers:

I totally understand, I have been there, in a slightly different situation. I’m 46 now, but at 17, was in a similar situation.
You can only help yourself, I know it sounds selfish at first, unfortunately, that is the way it is. I left home at 17, lived out of my car, saw that I was in it alone, got good grades, put myself through school, and made a good life for myself, I will always love my parents and they have the upmost respect for me, but I didn’t have their help, cause they had other things to deal with, and I had to do everything on my own, it’s not selfish of u to take care of yourself and make a life for yourself, just make you goals clear and stay on the path, and stay strong, ur parents may not understand at first, but they will, and they will be so proud :)

Betty asks…

If I think about sex enough, can I get pregnant?

Ok everyone this is your mission if you choose to take it, List ONE way you CANT get pregnant and maybe these “not so smart children” can take a day off from asking if they might be pregnant.
Sheesh Codey!!! honestly I’m not saying anything about people asking if they are pregnant, it’s the kids out there that ask things like “If I see my boyfriends penis, even through I was to scared to touch it could I be pregnant?” it’s all common sense, but it seems the the educational system is failing them.

admin answers:

You can’t get pregnant just from swimming in a pool with guys. And wearing your boyfriend’s pants or underwear won’t get you pregnant either.

Mary asks…

Question for the Women? (part 3 of 3)?

You have obviously impressed this guy (see parts 1 and 2).

beach?
2. White wedding gown or one that is ‘not so white?’
3. Move to his town or stay in yours?
4. Have five children together (in addition to ‘his’ five) or
be childless?
5. Live happily ever after or divorce ‘down the road?’
++++++++++++

Your Questions About If You Choose To Accept It

July 16, 2012

Mary asks…

“There is no fundamental reality save but for that which we choose to accept as real.” – agree or disagree?

Interested in discussion of this concept. It‘s like a cosmic catch 22, I think – if you accept it, then you‘re admitting that you only accept it because you choose to, not because it‘s real. Yet if you don’t, then you‘re saying you can choose not to believe and somehow, your choice not to believe is more relevant than someone else’s choice TO believe. :-/

admin answers:

It’s too vague of a question. I can see reality before my eyes without having to accept it as real, so I don’t agree.

Does a week-old baby accept reality as real, and if it doesn’t, is there no reality to it?

Steven asks…

Brilliant beautiful DIY – your project, if you choose to accept it is to build a bat house using?

wooden pallets. Any suggestions for construction. Have a basic idea of the dimensions. Thanks for your advice.

admin answers:

Basically you want to construct a long narrow box with one open end. Construct the box frame (three sides only, the fourth will be the down end for the entrance, from the approximately 2×4 cross supports (use solid ones if possible without forklift cut outs.Nail together forming a U shape. Next take a 2×4 with forklift cut outs and nail it across the open end of the U about 8 inches from the open end. Next nail the flat pallet boards across the U aligning with the closed end of the U frame, so that the board overlap the cut out holes of the open end cross brace. Do only one side for now. Mount the filled frame side to the post(s) to support the bat house off the ground about 3 feet. Location should be shady and out of the hot sun. Once the box is mounted, then fill remaining side with flat pallet boards the same as for the other side which is mounted to the poles. The flat board should be as close together as possible, but don’t try to seal the gaps as they provide ventilation and the bats won’t mind a little light.

The following link provides several bat house plans which you can modify for the local residents and for the materials you want to use. The pallet boards are good as they are rough sawn and will provide plenty of places for the bats to get a grip on. Good luck and the bats are fun to watch chase and catch the bugs in your back yard.

Sandy asks…

How is it “free will” to choose to accept or reject God, if his omniscience has already told him the outcome?

Are you saying I have the power to SURPRISE God by changing my mind and do something he CAN’T foresee?

If “yes”, how can you call him “omniscient”?

If “no”, how am I in any way making a “choice”, rather than simply being railroaded through my assigned, pre-programmed responses?

admin answers:

Precisely! And there you have it Rev.

Also, will I be allowing you to exert free will if I put a gun to your head, give you two choices, tell you the one that will save your life, and then demand that you choose?

If I tell you not to press that button, whatever you do!!! Do not press that button. Do you think you might press the button?

Now. Whatever you do within the next few minutes, absolutely DO NOT imagine an albino monkey flying off the empire state building. Don’t visualize it! You’ll burn in hell if you do.

Your Questions About If You Choose To Answer This Question At Random

Ken asks…

If you choose an answer to this question at random, what is the chance you will be correct?

If you choose an answer to this question at random, what is the chance you will be correct?
A)25%
B)50%
C)60%
D)25%
Could you tell me why?

admin answers:

Fatima, as there are four possible answers then the chance of being correct would be one in four. Which

in this case is answers A and D. As there are now two correct choices, this has now increased your

chances of having the correct answer to two in four, or 50%.

Be assured however that you can not then combine the two 25%’s with the one 50% and say you have a 3

in 4 chance, or 75%, of being correct. Doing so will earn you a 100% chance of being wrong!

James asks…

If you choose an answer to this question at random, what is the probability of it being correct?

A) 25%
B) 50%
C) 33%
D 25%

You can only choose 1 answer.

admin answers:

Um, 50% ?

Your Questions About For Those In Peril On The Sea

Sharon asks…

Which choir sang the recurring theme ‘For those in peril on the sea’ in the film ‘Crimson Tide’?

Stars Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington. Credits only say ‘recorded in London’.

admin answers:

Can’t find the choir used but this site gives you some credit details.

Thomas asks…

I need to download the song “For those in peril on the sea”?

I need to download this old navy song for my pop’s funeral. Please Help ASAP

admin answers:

The song is called “Eternal Father, Strong to Save.” I am so sorry about your loss and hope that I have at least helped a little so that your father can have the funeral you are trying to give him.

This one is a short 51sec acapella clip of only the first verse. All you have to do is save it to your computer and the play it.

This one a much slower and nicer, in my opinion. It is one minute all instrumental. At the top of the page, just right click the file and save target as. Then you have it on your computer.

Here is another. It is again an acapella song. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the little speaker. I can only get the first song to save/play, but it is an option.

Now I think this is your best bet. A full song, 3+ minutes, it is all instrumental and very beautiful. Click on the link and on the right hand side you’ll see it as #12. Again, right click, save target as, and you have it.

Your Questions About For Those Who Wait Lyrics

July 14, 2012
By

Robert asks…

What are the lyrics for ” For those who wait” by The Fireflight?

admin answers:

This is for those who wait

Another day another waiting game
A little different but it’s still the same
I am here but wheres the One I’m longing for
I’m having troubles feeling all alone
When my heart find a home
I want to hope but sometimes I just don’t know
I know I’m not the only one

(Chorus)
So you sing a lullaby
To the lonely hearts tonight
Let it set Your heart on fire
Let it set You free
When you’re fighting to believe in a love that you can’t see
Just know there is a purpose
For those who wait

I want to open up my eyes
I know that I’m in need is time
I’m growing stronger every single day
God, I’m gonna lead them to You now
Letting go all of my fear and doubt
I can’t do this on my own so I’ll give You control
I know I’m not the only one

(Chorus)
So you sing a lullaby
To the lonely hearts tonight
Let it set Your heart on fire
Let it set You free
When you’re fighting to believe in a love that you can’t see
Just know there is a purpose
For those who wait

The pressure makes us stronger
The struggle makes us hunger
The hard lessons make the difference
The pressure makes us stronger
The struggle makes us hunger
The hard lessons make the difference
And the difference makes it worth it
(Chrous)
So you sing a lullaby
To the lonely hearts tonight
Let it set Your heart on fire
Let it set You free
When you’re fighting to believe in a love that you can’t see
Just know there is a purpose
For those who wait

Set your heart on fire
This is for those who wait
