Your Questions About Eye Exercises To Improve Vision

Laura asks…

is it possible to improve my vision even if i have to wear glasses?

i’ve read about this eye exercise thing and it really made me keen to do it. the question is it possible to make my eye vision more clear? i hate wearing glasses and i don’t wanna use contact lens as i heard a lot of problem if i can’t take care of it.

so this eyes exercising thing, could it really helps?

oh one more thing, would my vision be more blurry if i don’t wear glasses? or is it getting more worse if i wear it?

admin answers:

Your vision will not be more blurry if you don’t wear glasses. Your eyes will get worse whether you wear the glasses or not.
I do not believe in any exercises that help improve your vision. That’s a question you should ask an optometrist, but I’m pretty sure the answer will be no.
Lasik surgery would be perfect for you. It’s routine surgery now. Just remember you get what you pay for. Don’t look for bargains.
There are some really cool light frames now. You’ll be missing out on so so much if you go without. Glasses can be very sexy!
Best of luck to you. ;)

William asks…

EYE VISION PROBLEM…?

Is it possible to improve my eye vision by myself, without any eye doctor? I don’t want eyeglasses, eye contacts, eye doctor checks, anything! I just want to improve my vision myself. :( I think its either 20/200 or 20/400, but I don’t know for sure. Anything : eye exercises, what to eat, I’m open for anything…

admin answers:

I’m open for anything…

Apparantly you`re not open to common sense. If you won`t consult an optometrist you`ve got more than eye problems.

Linda asks…

Tips and or exercises to improve eye focus?

So long story short, I have been having a lot of headaches and I went into the eye dr and he told me my vision is great and my eyes are healthy. The only thing that wasnt good was my focus. He told me he would give me a C- on the grade scale and this could be a big factor in my headaches, my eyes struggling to focus. If anyone could help give me some tips and exercises to do that would be awesome. I got some reading glasses last night for when on the computer or reading so thats step one. I really want to improve my actual focus too though so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

admin answers:

First, don’t strain or try to see. Just relax and close your eyes.
Search the Bates Method on Wikipedia and do the palming exercise.
It’s working for me if I look at something, close my eyes and imagine it clearer and then open them again.

Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Carol asks…

Mono vision @ -2.50 what happens when it gets beyond this level?

I’m a 45 years old contact lense wearer and my contacts are -3 and -2.50. This year my optician suggested mono vision as I was having problems with small print and reduced my prescription by -1.50 in one eye. I can already tell that the close up vision is not as good as it was when I first started the mono vision exercise.

My question is what happens if my near prescription gets more than 2.50, will I still be able to do monovision? I really don’t want to have to wear reading glasses – the reason I wear contacts is because I’d rather not wear glasses afterall.

Is this normal for someone of my age and is there an average ‘add’ for someone of 45 years of age?
Thanks

admin answers:

Yes-It’s normal for your age. Holding small print at about 14 to 15 inches from the eye a 45 year old would normally need an add of about +1.25.

Monovision works with any strength realizing the non dominant eye will have trouble adjusting because you will have trouble suppressing the dominant eye.and will want to use the dominant eye for everything. Normally it’s best therefore to use the dominant eye for distance for safer driving at the expense of close vision which will be using the non dominant eye.

Mark asks…

Should I ditch my normal prescription glasses and only use reading glasses when I need to see something?

I’ve been wearing prescription glasses pretty much all day, every day of my life since I was 7. I am now 21, and I am sure that my vision has gotten much worse, since glasses and contact lenses are nothing but bandages, making your eyes more dependable them and worsening your vision. I’m sick of wearing them, 13 years is too long, and I look much better without them. I am seriously considering getting a system to repair my vision naturally using eye exercises, but in the meantime, I am also thinking of ditching my glasses (since it’s not like I can’t see where I am going) and only using basic reading glasses for reading music, hard to see signs, and such. It can’t hurt.

admin answers:

That is untrue. Contact lenses can actually slow down vision changes; i myself am proof of that. Since getting contacts i have been able to see almost 20/20 and my vision has not changed in quite a while.

It really depends on how bad your vision is. If you can pass the vision test without them, then go ahead and ditch them. But if you see blurry at all you should keep wearing them! Especially if you’re driving!

I’ve never heard of repairing eyes naturally, but it sounds like a hoax to me. I would get laser eye surgery, which is proven to work and has an excellent success rate with the right doctors.

James asks…

i really need help ):?

i’ve been taking off my glasses now for about half a week and i play computer all day and try to see, but i have to look closer to see better. i do eye exercises everyday and i eat healthy. i’m just so sad that my vision takes soo long to improve, i just want to find something better to do than computer because my parents just watch tv all day, can anyone help? i’m very sad and am i doing the right thing by taking off my glasses?
play a game with my parents? no, i don’t think so! they never play with me or do anything with me! i’m soo sad right now, sometimes i wish i was adopted.

admin answers:

Well, the bad part is to put your eyes infront of the screen because that will make you blind. If you want to do something else than use the computer why don’t you call some friends to meet outside with or go take a walk. She could nicely ask your parents if they would like to do something with you like play with a 500 piece-puzzle,a board game like monoply… Just try to not keep your eyes staring at one thing.Did you ever ask your parents if they can enroll you to play a sport? You can’t sit like that at home doing nothing while your parents don’t pay attention.(especially now because it’s vacation)Tell them how you feel and they’ve got to listen because they have to take good care of you…

Your Questions About Eye Exercises

Thomas asks…

does eye exercises and eye yoga really improve your eyesight?

im really tempted to start these daily exercises to improve my short sited/bad eyes but i need to know weather these techniques are legit and really work? also is it a to good to be true thing?

admin answers:

It’s been good for the scam artists for many years who have been selling books about it.

The exercises they list are all nonsense and make no scientific or medical sense, and if you know how the eyes function , then they don’t even make any common sense.

No legitimate eye Dr’s can be found that have actually seen results. There should be lots by now, that nonsense has been around for 85 years.

The only people who claim to have done them with success can never supply a legitimate Dr’s name who can verify the changes that have happened.
It’s also strange that anyone who claims they work always have a link to a book for sale about it.

It can’t hurt to try them, but don’t expect to ever be rid of glasses because of them, it just won’t happen.

Just like carrots won’t help either…just another myth.

Sharon asks…

Can someone tell me the eye exercises in the rebuild your vision program?

I would like to know the exercises from the rebuild your vision program. I don’t want to purchase the product but would like to first try all of the exercises. Can someone tell me them or know any websites that shows the exercises from this program? Or if there is anyway to download it please give me the link. Thanks in advnce

admin answers:

Eye exercises are a waste of time and don’t address the real issues of blurry vision.

Most people can return to natural perfect eyesight. Look for Natural Eyesight Improvement, the Bates Method, and principles of natural perfect eyesight. Avoid people or sources who do not teach or at least plan to teach Natural Eyesight Improvement face to face. Avoid anything that talks about eye exercises(eye pushups, eye aerobics, eye yoga), corrective hard lenses(ortho-keratology), or vision therapy.

Richard asks…

What are some good eye strain exercises?

I’m suffering from eye strain and I need some exercises to help relieve the pain!

admin answers:

Close your eyes tightly for 2-3 seconds & then open them for 2-3 seconds. Repeat this for about 2 minutes and it should help heaps. This site -http://www.eye-strain.org/eye-exercises/ has a lot more exercises.

Joseph asks…

Will my colorful medical history keep me from becoming an OFFICER in the UNITED STATES Navy?

My conditions as far as I know them are:

-Allergies to Yellow #5 and 6 food coloring
-History of allergy induced Asthma(was never symptomatic just had trouble breathing at night, stopped inhaler long before age 13)
-Ear Tubes surgery when I was younger
-Grandma has diabetes but dad doesn’t and I don’t
-Tested for Asperger’s and ADD/ADHD(I was never treated fro any of these, by medicine or counseling, so I assume I don’t have any of these)
-had little bit of a misaligned/lazy eye but I grew out of it/ corrected it with exercise

I also have pros to add to this:

-20/20 vision(As stated by an eye-doctor)
-IQ of 126(As stated by my biology teacher who has a degree in psychology as well)
-I have perfect hearing.(I haven’t had a problem hearing anything ever before)
-healthy body weight(22.9 BMI, working on getting it bellow 22)
-I currently take no medicine except a vitamins sometimes, and at a physical I basically had the ability to say no to every potential problem my doctor asked and nothing he checked came up wrong with me

Does anyone think I could make it in to the Navy via NROTC? Also don’t tell me to lie as officers need at least SECRET clearance and I want to be a pilot, NFO, LSO, you know that kind of thing. Also I am waiting for a recruiter so please don’t point me that-a-way either.
I don’t want to work my a** off and have a doctor tell me to F*** off. If that happens I’ll use my above average or at least above Bo Jangles’ IQ to petition congress and the other million rejectees will no doubt sign the petition.
I have already considered the Naval Academy but with how competitive that is I wouldn’t even bother applying. I know a guy who got in there who only learned that the acdemy existed and started working to get in JUNIOR YEAR.
I don’t care about the means I just want to fight for my country. My parents are Indian immigrants and I’m an American by birth I just want to show my love for my new found country an since no one in my family has ever served before I want to be the first, being a USN or USMC officer would make my folks so proud.

admin answers:

The ear tube surgery might require a waiver but as far as medical the rest does not seem to present any issues. If you are asking about chances for a Navy Option or Marine Option Nrotc Scholarship, there is no information offered to state an opinion. A high school Biology teacher’s estimation of a student’s IQ is not a factor in selection decisions. An enlisted recruiter has no connection with Nrotc Scholarships. A Navy Opo(officer programs officer) or a Marine Oso(officer selection officer) are involved in recommending students for ISR(Immediate selection reservation) but these are few in number and require at least a 1290 Sat with a minimum 650 Math.
Applying for an appointment to the Naval Academy as well as the Nrotc Scholarship strengthens the applications for both. The military considers that a student’s primary goal should be to serve as a military officer regardless of service branch or commissioning source.
Good Luck!

Carol asks…

my hampsters really lazy and barely moving and looks a little fat/swollen. Someone please answer!!!!?

my hampster is about a 1 and a half years old. he hasnt been on his wheel for a while now and hes super lazy. Lastnight his left eye wasnt opening and today i was able to get it open for him but he is still really lazy. I was looking at his bottom (as a little check up) and there was a piece of his bedding stuck on what appeared to be his butthole and i started wiping it with a tissue and got the bedding off then there was like poop there and it looked like he had pee all over his bottom, even his tail. im going to be honest i havent really gave him attention cause i’ve been a little busy and the thought doesnt come to mind but my mom always tentions him. theres still a little crusty thing above his eye but at least he can open it now and his legs look a bit swollen/fat cause he hasnt gotten exercise in a while. and hes kinda breathing weird like really slowly. is there something i can feed him like vegetables or something? should he go to the vet? will he make it? is he dieing? PLEASE IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HELP PLEASE ANSWER!!

NO RUDE ANSWERS SAYING THIS IS ANIMAL ABUSE!!!
thanks i appreciate your help everyone! and i tried letting him roam around the room but he still just didnt want to move

admin answers:

Try letting him get exercise just by letting him roam on the floor freely. The crusty stuff is probably just crust from all the sleeping your buds doing however the breathing is possibly a problem, try making the cage less damp but if that doesn’t work id take him to the vet. I really hope your hamster gets better soon.

Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Myopia

March 12, 2012

Richard asks…

Can I use glasses with lower prescription ??? Read this please :) ?

I am 16 years old boy and I am asking: Can I use my glasses:
R sph -2,50 cyl NO ax NO
L sph -2,50 cyl NO ax NO
but my real prescription is:
R sph -5,75 cyl -1.00 ax 180
L sph -5,25 cyl -1,25 ax 155

I would like to use them for PC, for reading/writing, for TV, etc.
My real prescription is too strong for close work.
I feel uncomfortable with them.

I feel good with glasses -2,50 and I can see enough with them.

My 2nd question is: Can glasses -2,50 worse my vision (eyesight) if I use them a lot?
I am afraid for myself, because I wouldn`t like to worse my vision much more.

P.S. Prescription -2.5 = my first eye prescription.

And my 3rd question is: Can plus lenses somehow help myopia (using them for close work) to improve eyesight, pinhole glasses (I have bought them) and eye exercises?

Bye and Thanks to all good people. :)
Is it dangerous to use glasses only with sphere power, `cause I have astigmatism???

admin answers:

If you can see well enough with the old ones for certain activities, there is nothing wrong with doing that , and won’t harm anything.

Pinhole glasses or exercises won’t do anything to help though.

There is nothing ” dangerous” about using your old glasses…don’t worry about it and just wear the ones you feel the most comfortable with.

David asks…

MY EYESIGHT IS REALLLYY BADD!!!!!?

ever since i was 11, i have been wearing glasses -> and i started at -3 for both eyes
and due to the optometrists’ orders, i have been wearing them all the time, even when i
didnt need them.. rite now im 15 and my eyesight for both eyes is -7!
This is terrible and i feel my eyesight is deteriorating at an incredible rate.
what makes me wonder, my friend who had the same eysight as me in grade 6,
and it has not increased one bit.. but she only wore them when she needed them
(for copying notes in class) im soo scared and i know my eysight is extremely
severe myopia! :( i want to save/improve my eyesight PLEASE! dont mention
glasses, contacts, lasik.. i already know that.. i also heard bout eye exercises (dont rlly
know much bout it though)
please anything would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
thank you so much in advance!
my parents wear glasses, but they only got them 2 yrs ago. They have -1 and dont even
need their glasses so its not genetic.. my grandparents dont need glasses either..
thanks again
the big question is that i have noticed that ppl who always wore glasses (when
they didnt need them even) kept on getting stronger and stronger prescriptions
unlike ppl who wore them when needed..
this is my problem and i can undo the years i spent wearing them all the time..
so lucy, if you could (or anyone else) pls give me more info on how to improve
my eyesight NATURALLY, i would be super super grateful!!! if anyone has past experiences
with poor eyesight and how they improved it naturally, that would be amazing!
thanks again!!!!!!!!!

admin answers:

Wearing glasses just weakens your eye muscles to the point, you keep needing stronger prescriptions.Try some eye nutrients, usch at Vit A,lutein, and bilberry.Check iut the Bates Method or vision therapy.

Donald asks…

when will i gain my perfect sight?

im 14 years old and i have been wearing glasses for 5 years now and i have changed glasses 3 times and my current glasses have been on my face for over 1 year an d a half and i feel slight improvement. however everytime i have been changing my glasses it was always to a stronger prescription. i have myopia.
i heard that wearing glasses all the time might deterriorate your vision on the other hand if the optian says all the time, then it should be allt he time. i have heard of eye exercises and pack called rebuildmyvision or something like that.
i dont know exactly how bad my vision is as in i dont know how many points im off from 20/20.
can anyone tell me the truth about what can make my vision good again and what i should do.
thank you

admin answers:

Right first of all let me explain exactly what myopia is. Light is focused by its lens system, the cornea and the crystalline lens inside the eye, onto the retina, the light sensitive part. In your case the light is being focused in front of the retina hence the blur unless you hold an object close to you. I wont go into why that happens as you would need to understand geometric optics. Okay with me so far. Why is this happening. Either your eyeball is too long or the eyes lens system is too powerful or a combination of both. Right so what can you do about it.
How are exercises going to shorten your eye or reduce the power of its lens system. Short answer they will not.

Spectacles load to choose from and how many times must I say this. THEY DO NOT MAKE YOUR EYES WORSE. All they do is put your out of focus cameras, your, eyes into focus. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WEAR THEM, this will make no difference your sight but you might just walk under a bus!

Contact lenses are a good option as long as you care for them and get regular checkups.

Laser surgery I don’t think I would suggest this option until you have finished growing and your prescription has stabilised.

There is also on the market a contact lens that you sleep in. It is claimed they can temporally improve your vision. They do this by flattening the cornea. I am deeply suspicious of the method.

To sum up get your advice from qualified practitioners and not wishful thinkers, we do not go in for “holistic” approaches because a) they don’t work and b) often the people advocating them have no idea how our vision works.
