Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Double Vision

Laura asks…

eye convergence disorder?

I am 14 and am longsighted. I became longsighted from using my eyes for long periods of times. Recently i discovered that i had convergence disorder and my eye age was of a 46 year old. Then within two weeks it went down to 24. My eyes improved dramatically. I would not see double anymore. The doctor gave me new exercises which she said do once every two days. Mix it up with some of them but not all. However i carried on doing all of them then from there it started hurting again when i began to do the new ones she prescribed. I would do these for much longer then recommended. . My vision went blurry and my eye strain started again and i started loosing focus in my eyes. I would do it every two days but i would go over the time limit she gave me thinking it would make it better. Then i started doing this every day with the exercises. Then i went back to the old ones but the pain continued. I believe the pain is being cause by doing the exercises everyday or going overboard with them because my muscles in my eyes were becoming over worked by them. This is why she recommended once every two days. Do you suggest i should go back to the ones she originally gave me once every two days. These are the last exercises she said she would give me. They are the hardest. I have an appointment with her on saturday and was wondering if you could share any insight into this matter.

admin answers:

Are you under an behavioural optometrist? It sounds like you may be working too hard when performing the exercises. This causes too much stress on the visual system and then gives you the pain and blurry vision. You may also be doing the exercises incorrectly and in some cases you may be reinforcing the weakness. Your doctor needs to check your eyes again and review exactly how you are doing the exercises.
Ask your doctor tell to you if the problem is with accommodation (the focusing ability of the eyes), convergence (the eyes moving and working together) or a combination of both or maybe one eye doing more than the other? From your description it sounds like mainly accommodation but I can’t tell you precisely unless I examine your eyes. And if its one of the problems I mentioned above, ask exactly what the problem is. Make sure you understand what fully you’re eyes are doing and why they are not doing what they are supposed to. If you know the problem it can help you when you are doing the exercises.
Which exercises were you given? That may help in giving you more advice.
I hope this help

Sandra asks…

What could this mean?! :/?

I’m 14, and was wondering why:
-When I breathe in deeply, my upper left back hurts
-My left rib cage (the side where my back hurts when i breathe in) sticks up higher than my right one
-I’m fatigued constantly
-My left eye seems slower than my right one, and it takes longer for it to focus. Also, I have 20/20 in my right eye, but my left eye is much worse
-I have terrible memory, and find myself forgetting events and places I’m supposed to go to. Also, I don’t remember vacations that I took last year
-I get pulsating headaches during exercise
-When I wake up I have double vision for like a minute until my eyes adjust
-My balance has been really bad for the past 2 months or a month or so

Can these symptoms be connected? Or is there anything wrong with me, or are these things regular? Please do NOT tell me to go to the doctor, I’m already going I just wanted other people’s opinions. Thanks!

Could all these be connected?
I do NOT have scoliosis though!

Carol asks…

Seeing double when tired or walking! Any idea?? HELP!!!!?

Problem worsening over 11 years now. At first, it was happening after exercising (surfing). Now, even while walking slowly in the street, I see completely double, but when I move my neck high and slighly to the right while keeping my sight focused one one spot, my vision becomes better by more than 50% only for a few seconds, then again…. And if I move my head left and right while my neck is up I get this tickling feeling in my right eye, very funny, but it’s true. This situation is really killing me, I became so desperate. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but fluid from my spinal cord showed negative results and I don’t believe I have M.S. I believe it’s more in the neck!! But what? Is it maybe Carotid Artery? Or is it a problem in the neck? I also have 24/7 numbness in my left palm which disrupts my keyboard playing (being a musician). I can’t control some movements in my left fingers. Any idea of what’s happening to me? Has anyone experienced the same or almost? HELLLP

admin answers:

Could be a slight lazy eye, talk to your eye doctor and he will prescribe some glasses to fix that up

Improve Your Eyesight Naturally Without Glasses, Contacts or Lasik

Most people are completely unaware of how to improve eyesight without relying on the traditional methods. Poor eyesight can come from bad vision habits, like staring and straining to see. Prescribing stronger lenses does not help your vision improve; it’s just a stronger crutch!

admin answers:

B) Headache may be because your eyes are straining
c) Only wear them whe you want
d) No

Thomas asks…

How do you improve your vision naturally if you’re nearsighted?

I wear glasses and I would like to get rid of them.
Please don’t say get contacts or night contacts because they don’t really solve the problem; they just help the symptoms temporarily.
Please don’t say laser either because I’m too young for it, it’s too expensive, and I don’t want to risk any complications.
And I know there are a lot of places that claim to help your eyesight and they have a lot of testimonials, but they are all scams.
Do eye exercises actually work? If they do, can someone explain how to do them?
I know that carrots help improve your night vision, but do they help nearsightedness too?
Please only say something if it has been scientifically proven to work. Thanks.

admin answers:

As much as I wish I could say otherwise, glasses, contacts, or surgery are the only way to improve your eyesight.
I’ve been looking for other options for almost 20 years since I first had to get glasses and I have found things that improve the health of your eyes (which can help them from getting worse), but they can’t make the actual visual acuity better. Most of them are natural herbs (like Lutein, Bilberry, and Eyebright) and vitamins (A and E among others) that help maintain the health of the eye, but unfortunately couldn’t improve vision.
The main reason is because vision problems are a physical problem (the physical distance between the retina and lens), not a chemical problem that can be changed with drugs, herbs, or supplements :-(

I’ve heard of eye exercises that some people try, but based on a lot of research I’ve done on them, there is no basis to say that it will improve your eyesight at all long-term. All that’s left after all that is surgery or glasses/contacts. Sorry.
Also, there is an article at http://abcnews.go.com/Health/EyeHealthNews/11-eye-myths-debunked/Story?id=8919023 that points out some of the common myths about eyes. Some of these are included in there, but it also verifies that reading in the dark or watching a TV/computer screen too close doesn’t negatively affect the vision long-term. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Your Questions About Eye Exercises For Better Vision

Paul asks…

Eye exercises??!!! please help!!!thanks!?

Ok, So I have been doing eye exercises for 2 weeks now. I have 20/30 vision but I don’t wear glasses. When I go to school I notice that once in a while when I blink my eyesight is better then it goes back to normal (bad) eyesight when I blink again. It keeps happening more and more ever since I started the eye exercises. Do you think that is how vision improves? with exersises?

admin answers:

Get to know them better. This is not a task only to be accomplished through dating. The more you get to know him or her, the more you can tell if you like them as a friend or something else. Just talk and do fun activities with the person.
Stop and consider why you like the person. There are many physically attractive and smart people out there. But if you see something beyond that really catches your attention, you’ve marked this person as unique and probably like them. Why else would they stand out from so many?
Consider how many times you think about the person. If you find yourself thinking about this person several times a day, and they are happy thoughts that possibly make your heart beat faster, then you probably like them.
Think how often you laugh at their jokes etc. When you like someone, you will find yourself laughing at things even if they aren’t that funny. This is a natural attempt to make them feel appreciated.
If the one conversation between you and the person is stuck in you head and you cant stop telling people about it. This means it was important to you, and you probably like the person.
Consider how much you try to be near them. If you’ve planned your walking speed to catch a glimpse of them as many times of the day as possible, there is a good reason for that.
Think about how you feel if you touch him or her, by accident or on purpose. If you’re still thinking about brushing shoulders several hours ago in school, then that is a special thought and you probably like them.
If you feel you’re ready for a relationship, and are confident enough for a positive response, then just go ahead and ask them out. If you’re unsure of their feelings for you, there are several wikihows on how to tell if someone likes you.

Nancy asks…

Improving eye vision?

I wear reading glasses (forgot my prescription/number) and lately my eyesight have been getting worse.
I’m planning on cutting back on computer time and taking more breaks.
So here’s my plan:
45 minutes of computer (this includes breaks such as getting a drink/food and bathroom – I watch a bit of movies on here to kill time that’s why I’m on the computer for so long. Either that or I’m chatting with someone)
45 minutes of exercise on treadmill – as a break from computer
30-45 minutes of computer/tv/games
30-45 minutes break – practice piano or play basketball or something
and so on

Is that a good plan? If not, what’s a better idea?

Also, are there any natural ways I can improve my eyesight? I’ve learned that carrots only improves your night vision not your every day vision. So any exercises or something I can do and for how long & I’m pretty sure I already know the answer but should I do it with or without reading glasses? – Just making sure I’m right.
How long will it take to see results?

admin answers:

Could you please tell us more abut your vision problem ? “Reading glasses” doesn’t mean much, it’s even confusing because that’s the kind of glasses used by presbyopes. You can’t be presbyopic because you’re a teen-ager, while presbyopia is typical of old age. Although its early signs can sometimes be detected in people who are still relatively young (40s),it’s absolutely impossible to be presbyopic at 15.

Lizzie asks…

Is there any way to improve your vision naturally?

i’ve seen programs where you pay somebody a bunch of money for like a book and at the eye doctor they said if i paid extra to get eye exercises they would help my eyes work a lot better. i just have a lot of trouble with glasses and contacts and can hardly afford to get contacts so there’s no way i can get lasik. allergies are making my contacts really annoying and glasses are even worse because i need them bent but don’t know where to go.

admin answers:

Hi.

There are a lot of scams or semi true books and stuff online.

I can try and give you some but I need some more information about your eyesight and overall health.
Can you send me some more info to: Eli.goptics@gmail.com.

I will try to help.

Best regards.

Mark asks…

REALLY BAD EYESIGHT!!!!!!!?

Ever since i was 11, i have been wearing glasses -> and i started at -3 for both eyes
and due to the optometrists’ orders, i have been wearing them all the time, even when i
didnt need them.. rite now im 15 and my eyesight for both eyes is -7!
This is terrible and i feel my eyesight is deteriorating at an incredible rate.
what makes me wonder, my friend who had the same eysight as me in grade 6,
and it has not increased one bit.. but she only wore them when she needed them
(for copying notes in class) im soo scared and i know my eysight is extremely
severe myopia! :( i want to save/improve my eyesight PLEASE! dont mention
glasses, contacts, lasik.. i already know that.. i also heard bout eye exercises
(dont rlly know much bout it though)
please anything would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
thank you so much in advance!

ALSO: its not genetic (no one in my family has glasses, except me and my brother)

thanks so much!!!!!!!

P.S. if anyone has past experiences with poor eyesight and how
they improved it naturally, that would be amazing! no scams pls :)

admin answers:

This is very common for a lot of people. Do not feel like you are alone here. It may not be your immediate family that has bad eyes, but do your grandparents, cousins, uncles for it to be genetic.

Unfortunately glasses and contacts do not change the shape of your cornea like LASIK, so your eyes will never get better by using glasses or contacts. It seems as if you eyes are not stable to get LASIK either yet. I’d recommend trying eye exercises. There are a few programs like Impact Vision Training which offers RevitalVision. Charles asks…

Improving Eyesight????????

I heard that to improve it all we need to do is eye exercises. I have a -8 vision which is really bad so i want to naturally cure my bad vision. So does doing the exercise work? And when we do exercise our eyes do we wear glasses or not? I am very afraid that my vision will go up and i know it will since my glasses has been getting blurrier. PLease help me :) THX <3

admin answers:

Such exercises work to a limited extent.
But not enough to fix your eyes.

It’s probably true that it might help keep them from getting worse.
Or at least as bad as they would otherwise.

Not knowing all of your details, i surely can’t say what to do.

For folks that are a bit near or far sighted, looking at something close, then something far away, helps strengthen the muscles that are used to make that adjustment.

I’d think that if you were to do anything, you’d want your glasses on, and do the exercise i just described.
You want to be able to see, so that your eye muscles actually try to focus.
If you don’t have your glasses on, they won’t do that, and the exercise won’t help at all.

Betty asks…

How can I improve my eyesight naturally?

I heard something about exercises.Like putting your palms on your eyes for 2 minutes.Follow your fingers as they go up & down. Then stare at a color wall & move your eyes in a shape of a triangle, square, circle, etc. Then put your palms on your eyes for 2 minutes again.I dont know if this works or if there is another way. Please help!

admin answers:

I have personally found the following to be helpful:

(From Dr. Deepak Chopra’s audio tape set Magical Mind. Magical Body. Tape 5 covers sensory input to bring about changes in the physiology through the sense of sight.)

Research shows that what we take in through our sight profoundly influences our physiology, i.e. Heart rate, blood pressure, hormones, etc. Enhanced sensory perception can result in improvement in memory, creativity, attention span, and learning ability. The following procedures are designed to improve vision, the sense of color perception and access different information in consciousness.

Do everyday for 5 to 6 minutes.

Never go to a point of strain or fatigue.

Rest for 10 seconds in between exercises by closing eyes.

Do with corrective lenses removed.

Exercise to increase sensitivity to light by stimulating the rods and cones of the retina which are responsible for light perception. With eyes closed, look in the direction of the sun or a full spectrum light for 15 to 20 seconds.

Exercise to improve color perception, to make colors more vibrant and lively by stimulating cones for color perception. This exercise of watching the colors in the quantum mechanical body has a spontaneous healing effect. With eyes closed, look in the direction of the sun or a full spectrum light for 15 to 20 seconds. With eyes still closed, massage the eyeballs with the finger tips for another 15 to 20 seconds. Continuing to keep eyes closed gently turn the head away from the sun and back until the whole range of the color spectrum is exposed.

Exercise to prevent or decrease rigidity in the lens, ie decrease of fluid in the lens such as in cataracts. This exercise improves flexibility, pliability, and elasticity to the lens. Focusing – To change the focal length of the lens & improve the internal muscles of the eyeballs, look at an object up close and then at a distance. For example look at your hand 6 inches from your face and then look at an object on the horizon. Repeat this exercise for 15 times without straining.

Distant reading – Pin up on the wall some reading matter and every day move back a little bit to read it.

Close reading – Every day move up a little bit to read the pin-up on the wall.

Exercise to tone the eyelids – Blink eyelids hard and rapidly for 30 seconds.

Exercises using matras or fixed positions of the eye to strengthen the extra-ocular muscles (external muscles of the eyeball which are responsible for eye movement and coordination). This exercise allows us to access different information in consciousness. Holding these fixed positions increases brain wave coherence and strengthens memory, learning ability, increases attention span; all of which lead to a more stable physiology.

Holding the head up, looking straight ahead:

Look up and to the left. Hold this fixed position for 15 seconds. This exercise strengthens the ability of visual recall and is spontaneously made when we want to recall a visual memory.

Look down and to the left. Hold this fixed position for 15 seconds. This movement accesses auditory memory and is spontaneously made when we want to recall a musical tune.

Look up and to the right. Hold this fixed position for 15 seconds. This movement accesses the ability to create new visual forms.

Look down and to the right. Hold this fixed position for 15 seconds. This movement accesses kinesthetic recall and is spontaneously made when we want to recall an experience of touch.

Look to the directly to the right. Hold this fixed position for 15 seconds. This movement accesses the ability to create new sound forms.

Look down to the end of the nose. Hold this fixed position for 15 seconds. This movement accesses the ability to strengthen olfactory sense.

Look down toward the tongue. Hold this fixed position for 15 seconds. This movement accesses the ability to strengthen gustatory senses.

Look upward and inward trying to look at the space between the eyebrows. Hold this position for 15 seconds. This movement accesses the ability to heighten intuition.
